Chapter 16

3rd P.O.V

The thought of wanting to go back to her universe or not stuck to Alice's mind. She didn't know if she wanted to stay here or not. There are things she still didn't know about traveling to different alternate universes.

As Alice was having a mental crisis in her mind—walking down the hallway they met up with Diego who dashed into his room and put on his equipment.

"Where have you been?" Five asked.

"Jail, where's Luther?" Diego said as he got ready.

"I haven't seen him since breakfast" Five said

"Two days until the world ends, he picks a great time to drop off the face of the earth" Klaus said.

"Shit, well Allison is in danger" Diego said.

Then Five and Klaus looked at each other, both had worried looks on their faces.

"Five you guys need to hurry as well because Luther is gonna have a breakdown later before you leave, better not waste time" Alice warned Five and Klaus.

Then they walked downstairs, as they walked downstairs Ben noticed that his question might have made Alice overthink it.

"Hey, you don't need to overthink you know" Ben said, Alice turned around and saw Ben.

Alice sighed and started to walk slower so that the rest won't hear their conversation.

"I can't help it, I still don't know much about all this universe stuff and I don't really wanna go back honestly..." Alice said, looking down.

"What do you mean? Aren't your family going to be worried if they found out you were gone?" Alice scoffed at the statement.

"It's not that, it's that I'm scared to go back. My family isn't really the loving and caring type like you guys. I had to go through hard times when being with them.

Not all families love each other, Ben. No matter how hard they try to be loved by the people they thought they could trust, some parents just don't deserve to have kids." Alice explained, wiping off some tears that tried to peek through.

As Ben heard Alice's point of view he thought that she might have been so lonely all her life. To have people around you pressure you to be perfect, to be up to their standards and have no one to let out your feelings to.

That's what you call being completely alone.

They arrived at a bar where they spotted Luther sitting alone like a sad puppy.

"Give us a minute," Diego said as he sat down next to Luther.

"Give them some space, they need to get their priorities straight first" Alice said.

Klaus looked at Five and rolled his eyes "Fine let them brood each other to death" Klaus said as they went to a different table to give the two some space.

"So you seemed distracted Alice in wonderland" Klaus said glancing at Alice who got snapped out of her thoughts overthinking her conversation with Ben a few minutes ago.

"It's fine, I'm fine just thinking"

"About what exactly?" Five asked, looking at Alice. Alice averted eye contact with them trying to think of a way to get her out of this situation.

"You need to tell them Alice" Ben said looking at Alice.

"Oooh, so you are hiding something" Klaus said, glancing at Ben then at Alice.

"It's nothing important, it's just..........I don't know if I...if I wanna go back to my universe" Alice admitted.

"Doesn't going back mean that you get to see your family again?" Five asked.

"All families aren't the same Five, they're not as caring as you guys. They made me feel so alone and left me to grieve alone for years...-"

"Nononono, Remy! Rem, please open your eyes. Please I can't—please you're the only one I have ...."

Alice pleaded, desperately clinging to her younger brother as the ER rushed him into an operation room and told Alice to wait outside.

Alice placed her hand on her mouth as muffled sobs could be heard from her.

"They said it was all her fault"

"So irresponsible, leaving her little sibling unsupervised"

"Maybe she wanted him to die-"

Alice gripped the side of her dress as she sat in front of Remy's coffin—hearing all the rumors and whispering behind her back. She held back her tears as she felt the guilt and pain of losing the only person that kept her going.

She stood up, going over to the coffin and placing a hand on the side of it as she looked at Remy.

"I'm so sorry..."

-......it's just overwhelming back there....." Alice finished sinking herself on the floor, she averted eye contact from Klaus and Five as she knew they had a lot of questions.

She glanced back at Diego and Luther still talking "they better pick up the pace and they will in 3, 2 annnddd-" as Alice was gonna say one Luther flew off his chair and rushed to the door.

"One," Alice said, standing up and following them out, grateful that there was something to change the topic on and avert everyone's attention from her.

Five was driving to where Allison was gonna be.

Alice was thinking if they could make it in time to stop Vanya from accidentally cutting Allison's throat.

But as they were on the road they felt a faint wave draping over them.

"Did anyone else felt tha—wait, who are you?" Diego said looking at a now visible Alice sitting beside him.

Alice's eyes went wide as Diego noticed her presence.

"Y-you can see me?" Alice said, pointing at her.

"Well dear brother, to keep it short her name is Alice, she's Five's new girlfriend and Five accidentally brought her here!" Klaus explained, Five kicked Klaus' foot under the seat at his incorrect description.

"Ignore the girlfriend part but other than that what Kaus said is correct. And that wave we just felt might be because of-" Alice's voice disappeared yet again once she started to explain the situation.

"On another note I go mute when I try to say certain things" Alice sighed out.

They arrived at Allison's location and got inside and they saw Allison's body covered in blood.

Luther immediately went to Allison's side as everyone else was shocked seeing the scene "You guys better hurry before she loses a lot of blood" Alice said.

Luther thought ahead and lifted Allison's bloody body, "And Diego good luck with the needle later" Alice said as she patted his shoulder and walked past him leaving a very confused Diego.
