She wasn't responsive. Her heartbeat was too slow, and they had to transport her to life support. The girls had woken up when the doctor came out, and we were just now allowed to see her. Each girl gave me a hug and left the room. I didn't say anything. My face was emotionless, other than the tears streaming down it. I slid my hand into hers. It was ice cold. Her eyes flickered open.
"J-jackie? Are you a-awake?" I asked, tears coming faster.
"I love you Dashie. I'm going to die. We must face reality. But I always have, and always will love you. Stay strong, please. It'll be alright. I'll always be with you. In your heart, and your memories. Here." She took off her hat and gave it to me. "Goodbye, my love." Her eyes closed, but before her heart stopped, I leaned in and kissed her. I couldn't believe she was dead. I crawled into bed besides her and wrapped my arms around her neck. I kissed her again, and cried.
