Chapter 3 - A Dance with Alois -

-MG point of view-

His hand grasped tightly around my waist as we walked out onto the dance floor.

"Alois Trancy, it's a pleasure to finally meet you Miss Williams."

"A pleasure to meet you as well, I've heard quite a lot about you."

"You have? I hope only good things"

"Of course."

The smirk on his face only seemed to grow. By the time our short conversation ended we were dancing. Alois twirled me around quite flamboyantly earning the attention of many others standing around. People were beginning to say things on the lines of,

"Wow look at those young beauties"
"They sure do have a lot of energy"
"I wonder if they're engaged"

"You seem to be really getting into this, shall I match your energy?" I said responding to his antics playfully.

It didn't take long for me to analyze Alois as a shifty, and playful person. He acted like a fox constantly hunting for something.

"Please do, I wouldn't expect anything less from someone as notorious as you."

I could hear gasps and sounds of awe around us. The people here were easily impressed.

"I say Miss Williams you are truly an amazing dancer."

"Thank you Earl Trancy, it means a lot to be complimented by someone as talented as you."

-Alois Point of View-

The look in her eyes reminded me of Claude. I knew how she was behaving was just an act. One most nobles have to put up in public. I know of her family, and how they are masochists and sadists. I can't wait to see the other sides of this girl. I'm going to get her personality out of her eventually.

"Please, just call me Alois." I said gaining only a nod in response.

In the corner of my eye I could see Ciel Phantomhive dancing with Elizabeth. How cute. He was looking over towards me and Mary-Grace, I suppose he was interested in making acquaintance with the Williams family as well. The Williams family is even closer to the Queen than Ciel and I. I refuse to let him win over Mary-Grace before I do. By the looks me and Ciel are giving each other he knows that I want this to be a competition.

- MG POV -

I thought Alois was very easy to read. The looks he gave to what I assumed was Ciel Phantomhive by his fitting description was rather obvious. I knew what he wanted but was lacking why. It makes sense that we would want to get to know one another seeing our similarities and ties with the queen. What I didn't understand is why Alois felt the need to flaunt me around and create some sort of battle out of it. Why was he trying to win me over? Is it only because of my closer position to the Queen?

- Third Person POV -

Alois had brought Mary-Grace closer to Ciel and Lizzie to the point where the girls dresses would brush past each other. While lizzie seemed clueless as to what was going on, the atmosphere and tension between the three earls didn't go unnoticed by themselves and their butlers.

"My, my, what a show that's being preformed for us." Sebastian said to Claude.

"Quite interesting." Claude replied.

"I wonder if that Mary-Grace Williams will greatly effect the current tension between Alois and Ciel. They certainly both seem to want to gain her favor."

"Precisely, Alois has been looking into her and her family quite more that I would have expected him to."

"It seems like we'll have to switch dancing partners soon. Parting with you will prove to be difficult." Alois said starting up a conversation once more.

"Although dancing with you proved to be very amusing, I think it will be more comfortable. dancing with someone who doesn't look at me constantly with that gaze-" Mary-Grace paused and chuckled slightly.

"I think we'll be meeting again real soon." Alois replied moving his face closer to Mary-Grace's.

Alois eventually let go of his grip on the girl as dancing partners were to be switched. Both Mary-Grace and Lizzie were spun around and supposed to be cached with one another's previous dancing partners. But Mary-Grace wasn't going to sit around and just let this happen knowing what they wanted.
