it had been several days since the argument. several days since they made up and hung out together. there was consistent texting between the pair though, nothing too much. both could feel the growing connection between them, as it became harder and harder for them to stop texting each other.

it was a typical early morning for jihye without doubt. her feet carried her around the abandoned park, into the more office-populated area of cazelle. the towering skyscrapers were looming as they pierced into the light blue sky of the region

"jihyeeeeee," mihi whined when she reached the office for her early coffee.

it wasn't common for the two to meet at the coffee shop that sat in front of their office, in the mall that was populated by office workers. they always arrived at different times, sometimes not even passing by to get the energy drink.

"you never come here," the said girl returned the comment, meeting the joyful eyes of mihi who skipped into the shop with a considerable burst of energy.

"not here to get coffee."

"of course you aren't," her voice was quiet, as if she was distracted by something else. there wasn't much in her surroundings she could've been

jihye may have been quiet but her mind was certainly loud. she had read enough romance fictions to know exactly what she was going through. the driving question was set in stone.

did she have the guts to say it out loud?

in the past, she would've told herself to just admit it. that it was simple.

now? she could tell it wasn't the same. that maybe the fear of rejection in those stories were true. the words she had once screamed at the screens of those dramas now made no sense because that was reality.

"hey, come on. we'll be late," mihi gave her a pull, a smile flashing. she was already standing at the glass door that led to the cold outside world.

it never escaped her mind anyways, no matter how hard she tried.

taeyong's face was engraved in her brain, like an unforgiving curse. in a way, it wasn't really a curse. it was as if he was always there for her yet she couldn't focus on the countless things she had to do.

she already knew it anyways. there was no need for an internal debate about her emotions because she considered herself to have wholeheartedly accepted the emotion of love. if that phase was an rocky hill, then the next would be a steep, jagged mountain. forcing the words of love out was so much harder. it wasn't easy to confess one's true emotions to the one they wanted to impress.

a fear settled in jihye. what if taeyong didn't return her emotions? what if.

she had nothing to fear though, if only she knew the truth that she would never know. why? because he was contemplating the same issue.
