Hiroto's POV :

My eyes fluttered open as the sound of the rain entered my ears. I groaned and moved my head to my side, taking note of the crying window.

My teal orbs dropped to look at the person who held my heart as she slept while sitting on the chair beside my bed. I smiled gently and took the towel that laid on my forehead off before sitting up and stretching. It had been three days since my illness. Luckily, we had a break from school which allowed me to rest properly.

And (Y/n) had been with me during my sickness, even when I woke up at night, without her notice, I could still see her awake and looking after me.

I don't know what I had done to deserve such a wonderful person.

I smiled and shook my head at her choice of sleep position. As careful as possible, I lifted her from the chair and placed her on the bed.

"Go back to sleep, love." I whispered with a smile as I saw her open her eyes and inhale deeply. Thanks to her state of daze, she closed her eyes once more and fell fast asleep. There were faint black circles underneath her eyes, signaling her lack of sleep.

I kissed her forehead gently and headed to the bathroom.

"How have you been, Hiroto?" Father asked as I sat across his desk.

"I've been doing well, thanks to (Y/n)." I answered with a smile.

"I must say I'm very thankful for the help she has provided as well as keeping her word on nursing you back to health." He said as a small smile graced his features. I nodded in agreement with a smile.

"There was another final letter from him." Father suddenly stated, making my eyes snap to gaze at him.

"I've received one the previous day, Reina told me that (Y/n) read it when she asked to take a look at it." My eyes widened at his words.

"However, what concerns me more is this final letter."

"How do you know it's a final one?" I asked.

"Well." He leant to the side of his desk, opening a drawer. "Have a look at it."

I took the letter in my hands and opened the envelope, reading the lines of ink. My eyes widened at the words.

I can't let this happen to (Y/n), at all costs.

"Shouldn't we inform the police?" I asked as I removed my eyes from the piece of paper.

"I've already contacted Onigawara-san about it, he said they'll start working on the case immediately. Seems like Kenzaki sent these letter after his departure from jail." Father explained with a small frown.

"We can't let him have (Y/n), no matter what." I said, frowning in the process.

"For that purpose, we should keep a close eye on her so we can avoid any unwanted encounter." Father said, making me nod in agreement.

Standing up, I bowed at Father respectively and turned on my heals to exit the office.

She hasn't told me about the letter Reina let her read. I frowned at the thought as I marched to my room.
