 Bad at this thing

A painful scream can be heard by Ariel who is very bored. Well, the scream is not just heard by Ariel, it is probably heard by everyone. The teacher who is watching her, head bolt up the second he heard the scream. "Who is there!" The teacher is in a fighting stance with kunai on his hand. He shot a glare at Ariel and turned to the window.

Ariel thought for a moment. Maybe, just maybe, she accidently hit a brick, not just any type of brick, that one. My test subject!

Ariel rushed to the window and looked around. The teacher made a "Tsk" and muttered a curse about a kitsune that wasn't very nice.

There was nothing outside except the greenery, bushes and a few trees but there were a few drops of blood and the ghosts had about two troublemakers outside the window. She needed to know the result and she only knew one solution.

"Jun Sensei," Ariel said calmly. She knelt down and swung her backpack off her shoulder which was full of dangerous chemicals and tools. She made a show of zipping open the backpack and gave a cold smile to the teacher. "You wouldn't mind me going early, would you?"

The teacher gulped nervously. "Where are you going?" the teacher asked. Whenever Ariel asked to go early from detention, the outcome wasn't pretty.

"Oh, that's none of your business," Ariel said, revealing a fourth of the dagger she had in her head which had all kinds of chemicals on it. She slowly revealed more of the hilt of the dagger. "But, really, we don't want to get complicated, yes? Just let me go and everything will be okay or else..." Ariel shrugged helplessly.

The teacher made a go-away gesture.

Ariel tried for a smile but couldn't muster one. "Thanks Sensei!" She grabbed the potions off of her desk. Ariel opened the window wider and jumped down.

Ariel was walking down the street, heads down. Being a witch wasn't the easiest thing, especially one that was extra not appreciated. The ghosts whispered to her, telling her the direction to Valerie's apartment. Ariel has made the ghosts tell her who is there and where to find them again. The ghosts didn't sound excited about it but guided her anyway.

She ended up at the end of the street to face a rundown five story apartment. The ghost told her the whole apartment was hers, and if they told her lies, she's going to burn them.

She opened the door which led to a thin staircase covered in cracks, dusks, moss as well as weeds. Ariel slowly started to go to the fifth floor, which had two apartments. She heard noises coming from the left side.

"-to leave me," a voice said, cracking with emotions. "You stupid dummy. It was supposed to be a death prank for them, not you!" The voice choked.

Ariel calmly knocked on the door, which was opened slightly. The voice got up, a girl with waist-length silver tinted blue hair. Her face was too shadowed to read but Ariel spotted a few tears. The girl opened the door.

"What do you want?" the voice asked in a rather impolite tone. The girl wiped her tears away.

"Can I come inside?" Ariel asked, not bothering to introduce herself or listen to the girl's introduction.

"Who are you?" the girl asked.

Ariel scoffed. "Not important. A ghost told me the green headed girl lived here. Suppose you two were trying to play a death prank on me, eh? She hitted one of my experimental bricks and I need to see the result."

It was the girl's turn to scoff. "What are you, a doctor? Well, my mom said stranger danger so HECK NO!" She slammed the door shut but Ariel already put her foot in between it.

"You're going to let me in right now," Ariel commanded. "My ghosts aren't the nicest, especially toward two people who tried to perform a death prank on me."

The girl turned pale. "Why should I?"

"None of your business."

The girl huffed indignantly but let Ariel inside anyway. "You better save her if you can."

Ariel walked inside. The apartment was a whole mess. Clothes, rawen cups, dangerous tools and food wrappers were piled up everywhere. The paint on the wall was starting to peel off. The light was flickering off and on. The couch is ripped and dusty. "Help yourself," the blueberry head said.

There was a makeshift cot on the floor and a pale girl laying on it. She had green hair and seemed to be in excruciating pain. Ariel walked over and took off her backpack. There was no wound except a tiny white scar on the girl's forehead. The scar is healing itself and now the scar is no longer there like it was never there before. "Well? What is that potion you made? Any antidope?" Lexi demanded, not even sounding nice.

"I can cure it and bring her back but there will be side effects," Ariel said in the same impolite tone as the rude blueberry head. She held up her index finger. "One, she'll act differently. One second, she might act energetic but the other she'll act as her old self. Mood-swings. Her emotions are all messed up."

"You-" the blueberry head said but thought better of it. "Fine. What else?"

Ariel shrugged. "Nope. She'll just act differently." Ariel fished out the potion from her backpack and threw it at the rude, impolite blueberry head. "You're her friend, I suppose. Just force her to drink the potion and she'll be fine." She grabbed a notebook and a pencil and wrote down one of her apartment addresses. "Come and find me there when she wakes up." She stood up and threw the piece of paper to the blueberry head who barely caught it. She slung on her backpack and headed out for the door.

"Wait!" the blueberry head shouted. "Where are you going?"
Ariel stopped. Why did everyone have to ask where she was going? "None of your business."

"What's your name then or are you too scared to share?" the blueberry head taunted.

Ariel snarled. "Are you trying to taunt me?"

The blueberry head scoffed. "Well, I'm Lexi, nice to meet you." She said the last part halfheartedly.

"Ariel." She opened the door and left the rundown apartment.

"SEE YOU AT THE ACADEMY!" Shouted Lexi smirking at the thought of Ariel in detention, and whispered the last part, "Or should I say, detention."
