Everything hurted like hell.
She wasn't dead yet but she wished she was. Why did hitting the brick hurt more than the villagers hurting her?
Valerie woke up in what seemed like a sewer. 'Great, they have dumped me here out of all places.' This place is so dark. She got up to her foot, limping while walking. Water splash under her feet as she walks. All she could hear was sounds of water splashing. She saw nothing besides vast darkness as if she was blind.
She wondered what was happening outside of her consciousness. Lexi would probably be trying to heal her. If that was the case, shouldn't Valerie be awake by now? Perhaps she was just too tired or this injury was irreversible.
Lexi could heal the worst injury. She wanted to die so she could get out of this nightmare if this was going to be stuck in a loop forever until she was old. If she died and the villagers heard about it, they're probably going to celebrate with fireworks and parties. Then, Lexi would be the only one to attend her funeral.
The hualing technique never failed to work, so how did it fail back there?! "So my great jailor decided to grace me with her presence!" Boomed a deep loud voice. She doesn't know why but her guts told her to follow the voice. She trusted her gut feeling and started walking toward the voice. After what seemed like hours of walking, she finally stumbled upon a weird room with bars and a red gate. Valerie walks closer to the bars and gets a good glimpse at what/who is speaking to her. Looking into the cage, she can see a white fox with green details on the fox with one swishing tail.
"What is a fox doing here?" asked Valerie. She thought it was the kitsune but the one-tailed kitsune is in another village.
"Well you are smart to know that I am not the one-tailed kitsune-" boomed the white fox, "-But I am the nine-tailed kitsune, the strongest among all kitsune, the kitsune lord. Um I might not be the strongest, but my mother is and I am the second strongest." Said the nine-tailed kitsune, mumbling the last part.
"Stop bluffing! Care to explain why you only have one tail but not nine?" shouted Valerie.
"Well it is quite a sad story! Are you sure you want to know the history behind the accident that happened sixteen years ago?" The kitsune voice became gentler.
"I don't see what the disadvantages are. So sure. So how are you gonna tell the story?"
"Like this." The nine-tailed kitsune's claw is covered with a green bubble. The claw gently touched her forehead and she got flashbacks from the kitsune getting controlled by a mysterious man to her parent's death.
"Woah... what is t-that?!" Valerie has tears in her eyes. "That is very s-sad."
"I know. So sad that I got controlled and now kitsunes are slayed and hated with getting sealed inside little weak girls!"
Valerie glared at the 'nine-tailed kitsune.' "Not that. It is sad that my parents are dead, sealing the kitsune inside of me because the kitsune can't be killed. Urg... and the villagers said the 4th lord and his wife died because they turned the kitsune into a little kid so the villagers can kill me, utterly rid-" Nani?!?!
"What? Wondering why you're acting like that, will you believe me when I said you hit a brick with poison on it and now your personality has changed and boom." The kitsune is playing with his nails.
Suddenly Valerie has a serious face on. "Heh... mind link, isn't it? Irukaka Valerie. What is your name?"
"What makes you think I have a name, girl," the kitsune has a doubtful face on.
