A/N : Okay so... here it starts aaaaand you don't know what I mean yet but just you wait you pretty little heads.
Also... Eden and Harry - My heart, my children... *Niall scoff* gotta love 'em.
EDEN'S POV -
"So he drove you home and then..." Megan questions me through a facetime call, her phone propped against a hotel bed while she paints her nails. "He asked about seeing eachother again tomorrow, but that's it." I sit back in my desk chair, popping a grape into my mouth, slowly spinning around.
"See, that's the detail you missed." She exaggerates and I laugh. "You're far too invested. I met him once."
"And you sang together, talked to him about your relationship issues... What's going on with Aaron anyways?" She questions, blowing on her nails. "He's at some party... he told me he's staying there so I figured I'll text him in a few about tomorrow." I spin myself back around fully, the sunflowers on the desk catching my eye. "So he made this big deal about you being gone for three months and yet he's been gone almost the entire time you've been back?" Meg recites what I've told her about this week.
"I mean... how many times did he call you at 4 am on tour and complain about you not being present to only talk about himself... all the fucking time... I bet he got mad when you told him about the flowers, huh?" She mutters more and I still myself, holding a piece of the purple fruit just in front of my mouth.
"You haven't told him yet?" She looks up from her nails, noticing my silence. "I can't blame you, I wouldn't either... but I assume Harry meant it when he said he wanted to work with you." Megan observes and I pull the card out from beneath my laptop, glancing over the note. "I mean, he didn't say anything about it tonight..." I mumble and she furrows her eyebrows.
"Well... yeah, I mean who would meet you for the first time and just..." She pauses, flattening her lips like she's hiding a smile. "What? Why are you doing that... thing with your face?" I motion and her jaw goes slack like I've just accused her of some heinous crime.
"What? I'm not doing anything..." She defends but I give her a knowing face and she sighs out. "He probably wants to get to know you... He sent you flowers, that means he sees talent, but I don't think that's all he cares about. You've met those people from his band, I'm sure they've talked about you." She speaks sweetly, leveling with me.
I place the card back down on the desk, spinning myself around a few times in the chair, staring at the ceiling. "I'm gonna have to tell Aaron soon." I sigh and pick up my phone, clicking the home button and tapping on the messages app. "Just see how things go for now. Who knows, maybe he'll find you too talented and decide against it."
"That is definitely not a concern of mine... But it's late now so I'm gonna head to bed." I yawn, typing a quick "I've got some morning plans tomorrow. Is that alright?" to Aaron before unpausing the facetime call.
"Alright but you better tell me how it goes. I love you." Meg blows me a kiss and I smile back. "I love you and I will. Tell everyone I say hello." I end the call, leaving my phone on the desk and getting up to go get myself ready for bed.
I can't stop thinking about it tonight. I realized that something changed between Aaron and I after I left for tour, but for a while I was just telling myself it was the distance. Now, I feel like maybe that's not the case.
Plus, Meg was right. I don't remember the last time Aaron really considered the fact that my future shouldn't revolve around his. We're separate people before we're a pair.
