Jian had been waiting patiently in his and Zheng's shared room.
He was lying on the bed with hiking attire—He Tian's shirt and a pair of shorts—and his blonde hair was pulled back in a small bun.
With the position he was in, feet still placed to the floor and the other half of his body resting on the mattress, his spine was getting a pleasant stretch like it rightfully deserved. Especially after a cramped three hour car ride with three viscous teenagers.
Waiting for Zheng to change into his hiking clothes, Jian hummed at the thought of the activity's the four had planned for the evening.
The women who had told them to call her Rose, explained after the tour she gave the lovebirds that the mountain side was a perfect hike durning this time of year.
It didn't take much convincing for the boys to hustle back to their rooms to start getting ready for the climb. It'd be tiring, and maybe the view wouldn't even be worth the trouble at all, but Jian couldn't help but smile.
Perhaps because the idea of coming back down the mountain to a spa and hot springs was what made him feel all warm and gooey inside.
"This place seems too nice."
Hearing Zheng's voice echo out of the bathroom, Jian sat up and smiled, his back tensing a bit at the strain.
Zheng's brown hair was more messy than Jian remembered, and skin still glowed even in the dim light of the room. Jian heard his heart thumping rapidly in his ears when those slender eyes spotted him on the bed.
"Makes you feel out of place right? The room?" Jian said.
Panning back to the topic about the fancy room and not the fact his heart seemed to be doing weird things, he noticed there was a large glass screen door leading to the hot spring outside. The walls were beige, a bit too bland for Jian's liking, but they made up for the lack of color by the many paintings hung up.
The room only had one bed. Jian felt his face heat up.
He remembered Zheng's reaction when they had first walked into the room. Zheng gapped, then had quickly turned around to ask if there was a room with another bed.
Rose had simply said "I hope you enjoy your stay," before she pattered down the hall and disappeared into another room as if she were a ghost.
He had grumbled and walked in, tossed the bag on the small chair in the corner and dug through it for something.
Jian had sat on the bed and almost instantly noticed the temperature. Expensive places like this usually cranked the ac until the building was an ice box, and the skin on Jian's arms had formed goosebumps.
The goosebumps were prickly on his skin even now. Jian shifted himself on the bed to look back at Zheng who was back to messing with something in his bag.
Maybe if it gets cold enough tonight, I can convince him to cuddle.
"I wonder if Little Mo and He Tian are ready?" Zheng questioned aloud.
Jain stood up. He suddenly wanted to be closer to Zheng, the space between them too much for his comfort.
He bounced his way over to Zheng. Jian leaned forward to catch a peak of what the boy was up to. The had been digging around in the bag for so long, Jian couldn't help but wonder.
Without thinking, he plopped his chin there on Zheng's shoulder. Already he felt better, a warm sensation pooling at the base of his stomach.
Zheng on the other hand, who hadn't been expecting the boy to be behind, whipped his hand back in surprise and connected it with Jian's nose.
The blonde sputtered backward into the glass door, Zheng immediately turning in sympathy. Jian was now whimpering on the ground, holding onto his nose, while Zheng patted his back.
"Shit! How the birds balls was I supposed to sense you behind me! Don't sneak up on me like that!"
"So mean~ mean Zhan Xixi~"
Zheng rolled his eyes and eventually helped him to his feet. The least he could do was accept the arms that wrapped around him in a tight hug. He sighed and shook his head in annoyance, but nonetheless lifted his hand and patted at the overly soft hair on Jian head.
"I'm sorry, okay? Now let's hurry up and see if the other two are ready."
Jian sniffled and pouted, nodding and rubbing his teary eyes on Zheng's shoulder. "Okay."
The door to their room flew open and what was seen was an angry redhead with bulging crimson eyes.
"A wild pepper!" Jian pointed. "Hehe~ kidding. It's just Little Mo."
"What's taking so damn long!" Mo hollered.
The two had finally let each other go. Jian, on the other hand, still held onto Zheng's sleeve.
"Little Mo~ what if they were naked?" He Tian laughed as he arrived right behind him.
"You'd like that wouldn't you, you perv," Mo said with his face scrunched in disgust.
"I only like naked guys if it's you~"
He Tian leaned in close to Mo with puckered lips. Mo put up shaky hands in defense.
"Wah!! Stop! You're so fucking gross!"
Jian ignored the fussy pair and skipped out of the room. Zheng was annoyed by the slender fingers that tugged on him to follow, but was so used to it at this point that he began to lose interest in scolding him.
"Let's go hiking~"
—
"Haaaaaaaa. I'm so tired. Little Mo, carry me would yah?" Mo scrambled away from Jian's wobbly figure.
"Don't fall on me. If you're gonna fall, do it over the cliff, chicken dick!"
Jian whimpered. "You're so mean to me~ do talk yo you mom like this too?"
Mo turned around and smacked him in the shoulder. "Obviously not! My mother is my mother, she deserves respect."
Zheng huffed a giggled from the front of the line, a branch he found an hour ago in his hand to push the grass away from the trail. He didn't actually have to, as the path was clear enough to see, but it'd be an easier walk for himself and the three complaining behind him. Even He Tian, the guy with probably the best fitness out of the group, was causing a fuss.
"Zhan Xixi~ are we almost there yet?" Jian Yi asked from the back of the line.
Zheng had no idea what the answer to that question was.
Luckily, it was quickly answered as he stepped out into an open patch of grass and inhaled the strong breeze.
All three followed behind, looking up as Zheng said, "We're here."
Now, they were staring off for miles. The houses and roads looked like little blocks and lines from up here. It was mesmerizing.
"Damn," Mo said as he approached closer to the edge of the cliff. "This is one hell of a view."
"Yeah."
Jian plopped to the ground and sighed in exhaustion. Finally he was able to catch his breath.
He stared off into the orange sky. It all looked like a dream, especially those pink clouds that were as fluffy as cotton.
"I'm hungry," He Tian's stated, breaking the silence.
Mo scuffed. He backed away from the edge of the cliff and walked over to He Tian where he punched him in the shoulder. There was a playful gleam in his eyes. It was rare for an expression like that to be on the redheads face.
"You always are, chicken dick He Tian."
