"Ugh," Sapphire groaned in her sleep because of a ringtone.

After 2 years, her phone rang.

"Please, shut up," she mumbled, burying her face even more to Bucky's bare chest.

"Whoever is calling has one hell of dedication to look for it, so go answer," Bucky said, caressing her bareback.

She groaned once more before sitting up, reaching for Bucky's shirt on the floor as she stands up.

Bucky bit his lip, not getting tired of her in her birthday suit. Ever since their birthday, they spend so much time exploring each other.

Physically.

Sapphire tied her hair in a messy bun while walking to the fridge. She answered her phone that was on top of it.

"Angel of Death," a man's voice greeted.

She pressed a button, producing a beeping sound to let the caller know that she's there.

"I am calling from the United States Secretary of State office," he said.

She then repeated her action.

"Secretary Ross calls for your attendance at the Avengers Facility in New York, 2 days from now. He said that your attendance is a must."

She hung up on him, placing it down on top of the fridge a little harsh.

"Who is it?" Bucky wrapped his arms around her waist from behind.

"The office of United States Secretary of State," she answered with her jaws clenched.

Bucky tensed, thinking they might have found him, "What do they want?"

She turned from his hold to look up to him, "The secretary said that my attendance is a must in the Avengers facility in New York."

"Will you go?" He asked.

She grunted, "What could they fucking want from me? Now, that I'm not doing anything, they do this shit when it was their job to deport me, 3 years after my sentence. So, no. I don't want to go."

"Well, I think you should," he said, surprising her.

"You want me to leave?"

"I don't want to, but you should. If you don't go, they will look for you, and if they find you with me, you're going back to prison," he explained.

He wasn't also fond of her leaving because she hasn't for the last 2 years they've been together, but he didn't want to bring her more harm.

"I hate this," she groaned, hitting her forehead on his chest.

"I hate it more, but for everyone's sake go. And don't go killing if they piss you off," Bucky reminded her, jokingly.

"I might just do that too," she seriously said.

"And it might not be that bad," he said, trying to lighten up the situation.

Sapphire scoffed, "Yeah, right. Like I'm being awarded the fucking hero of the century."

"Sapphire," Bucky warned.

She looks back up to him with sadness written on her face, "Is peace too much to ask? Every time I will try to settle, shit just follows me everywhere."

"That makes the two of us," Bucky said, pressing his lips against her forehead. "But it's kinda you and me against the world. And no matter what happens, I'll hold you still."

She nodded her head lightly before sighing, "Fine. I'll go. But I'll only stay there for a day. I'm getting the fuck out once it's done."

"Will you be fine here?" She asked, caressing his stubbles jaw.

"I will be. I doubt I'll even go out we just restocked our food," Bucky said.

Later that night, Sapphire informed him that she already booked her ticket.

"You're going to miss me?" She teased as they sat on the bed, both leaning against the wall with her head on his shoulder.

He scoffed, "You wish."

"I don't even know why I said yes to you," she rolled her eyes.

"Neither do I," Bucky admitted. "You deserve so much more than hiding."

"Shh," she pressed her finger against his lips. "None of that."

Bucky does wish he can give her the world, but he couldn't because of his situation.

"I love you, James," Sapphire said, caressing his cheek. "And, no matter how much I say it, I'll always love you more than that."

Bucky leaned into her touch, feeling his nerves melt away. And it's not even her abilities that caused it.

It's just simply her.

His white-haired, pale face Doll.
