📍 HYDRA | January 2014

She fluttered her eyes open, seeing she was inside a small room, lying down on a bed.

She sat up while rubbing her temples, trying to remember the last thing she knew.

"You're awake," a man with a metal arm and long brunette hair walked inside the door.

Putting her guards up, "Who are you?"

"James Barnes," he replied, handing her the clothes he was ordered to give to her.

"How did I get here?"

He shrugged, sitting down on the bed across from me, "I woke up with you lying there."

"Did HYDRA break me out of prison?" She murmured to herself, confused.

"Name," his deep and gruff voice echoed through the room.

"43102," she said.

He gave her a nod staring at her because of how she looked.

The dim light of the room reflected on her porcelain skin.

"Quit staring," she snapped at him.

He cleared his throat before nodding, "Change, and we need to train."

She took the clothes and went inside the small bathroom attached to the room. She cleaned herself up, feeling disgusting with her nightclothes. Then, she changed into a black sports bra and leggings, which were snug to her body, tying her white hair up in a ponytail.

"I'm ready," she said, slipping in the shoes he gave her.

"Come. Follow me," he said, taking powerful strides down the hallway.

She kept her chin up despite all the stares she's getting from the agents on the corridors.

"I can't believe I'm back here," she said underneath her breath.

"Where you from?" James asked her as they got inside the training room.

"Prison," she answered.

"Well, we have a mission later. Try not to get locked up," he said, handing her a folder.

With a straight face, she rose a brow at him, "Is that supposed to be funny?"

"I'm serious," he said.

She rolled her eyes, opening the folder, "I'd rather be there than here."

Reading through it, she saw the name of Natasha Romanoff and Steve Rogers with their picture attached to it. One was a redhead, and the other was blonde.

But at the back of her head, it was nagging something about it these people.

"What's so wrong about being here?" He got close to her, reading the file in her hands again.

Maybe a little too close.

She looked up to him, and they were inches away from each other. She stared deep into his blue eyes and spoke, "A lot."

Then, she sent her fist flying to his face, which he caught with his metal hand.

He gave her a smirk before twisting her arm and having her against him in a headlock.

"Cheat," he whispered in her ear, feeling his hot breath on her skin and the coldness of his arm.

"Correction," she bent backward, bashing her head against his, then bent forward to grab his leg in between hers, then pulled it, making him fall on his back, "I'm wise."

He brought his knees to his chest and kicked her behind her knees. She fell forward and he took the chance to crawl on top of her and held wrapped his arm around her neck, pulling her upwards.

She struggled on his hold, which made him intertwine one of his legs around hers to lock her in place. With all her strength, she held on to his arm and faced him from beneath.

It would be a lie if he didn't feel something with her underneath him while straddling her and looking up at him with her steel eyes.

Using both of her hands, holding onto his arm on her neck, then thrust her hips upwards to the side, flipping him on his back while she's between his legs. She tried to use her illusions but James was only struglling because of her hold on him

It made her frustrated, knowing he wasn't affected by it

What the hell is wrong with him? Or is it me?

The door opened with Rollins coming in, "Prepare."

He glared at me before nodding at James.

I pulled back and stood up, reaching my hand out to James. "I'm not coming back after this," I confess.

Feeling sorry for her, he nodded, "Just finish this, and I'll cover your escape. Can I hold you to that?"

"Okay," she gave a curt nod.

They went out and started to prepare. James wore his usual vest was strapped in properly, and make sure his metal arm was good.

She walked towards the table James was picking his weapons on and started to get a bunch of knives and attached it to her body.

"You ready?" He asked her.

After 4 years, she'll be killing people again. She managed to shut down her emotions and answered him, "It's not my first time."

James was surprised at how quickly she shut down on him compared to her feisty attitude in the ring.

Meanwhile, Steve and Sam began to put the chips as they planned.

Alexander Pierce watched through the window the helicarriers. "Let me ask you a question. What if Pakistan marched into Mumbai tomorrow, and you knew that they were gonna drag your daughters into a soccer stadium for execution?" He asked as he hands Councilman Singh a glass of champagne. "And you could just stop it with a flick of the switch. Wouldn't you Wouldn't you all?"

Councilman Singh answered, "Not if it was your switch. He tossed the glass aside, then one of the HYDRA agents hands Pierce his gun, and Pierce points it at him.

Suddenly Hawley kicks Singh away, then took down the other HYDRA agents in the room before taking the gun and pointing at Pierce.

She then removed her disguise to reveal Natasha, "I'm sorry. Did I step on your moment?"
