I've got 4 days off work just to spend with myself and I'm so ready, it's one day in and I've already got so much writing done 😊

Ant gives me major Hawkeye vibes in this chapter 😂  you'll see what I mean...

David sat in his uncomfortable predicament, realising that his attempts to protect Stephen from his world were futile. The lying had been hard enough, but looking into the eyes of a man who just wanted his boyfriend back and lying was too much.

Even if it destroyed his relationship with Stevie, Mr Donnelly had a right to know. Anthony had a right to be around people who cared about him.

"I assume you know who I am Mr Walliams?"

David nodded slowly, still staring at the ground, "I do.... A-and I think I know what this is about."

Declan pulled a picture out of his coat pocket and pushed it under the doctors fallen gaze. "This is my boyfriend. My missing boyfriend. He's in your medical bay."

David's body sagged, knowing he'd finally been caught in his lies and shook his head, "I can't say anything here, it's not secure enough." He looked to Stevie who turned away almost immediately to hide his disappointment in the taller man but David caught it, "I'm sorry baby, I know I did wrong and I'll help your case any way I can but you've gotta trust me on this, we aren't safe here."

"I know a place." Dec stated, standing up urgently and turning to the young detective as he walked out, "I'll drive, untie and get him in the car."

David didn't struggle or complain as he was moved and Stephen didn't feel much like conversation either. After the younger man pulled on some trousers, They reached the sleek black Jaguar around the corner and watched as the doors opened upwards automatically.

"Didn't think I'd ever be attracted to a pretty lump of metal." David drooled as he was pushed into the back seat by a grumpy Stephen.

As soon as the detective was in the passenger seat, Declan sped off, checking his mirrors constantly and driving fast enough so they wouldn't be followed. He'd have Ali handle the speeding tickets later.

"Where are we going?" Stephen asked, gripping his seat tightly.

"A Friends house. They live on the other side of town."

"In the rich side?" David chuckled.

"Yes." The young Geordie deadpanned, not appreciating humour from the man who'd hidden his lover from him. He spun harshly into the driveway of Mr and Mrs Schofield's home and felt an odd sense of satisfaction from the terrified squeak that left the doctors lips.

"Get out. Go upstairs and enter the door to the left."

Stephen nodded quickly and rushed to do as his employer said, grabbing David who secretly liked being manhandled and giggled to show it.

"This isn't funny David you lied to me."

"I never lied to you Stevie I just... I just didn't tell you the whole truth. I'm so sorry, but I was just trying to protect you."

"You lied about not knowing the McPartlin boy. You don't need to protect me David. That's not your job."

"I love you. That makes it my job and I don't know Ant at all. He's a patient. A distant one at that."

Stephen ground his jaw and tried to pretend that David saying he loved him didn't melt his heart, he put on a mad front to show his hurt and led the taller man upstairs after no one stopped them entering through the front door.
