2 hours laterJames's POV
Me and Sirius sat in the compartment and I was daydreaming about Lily. About her red hair, her hot temper, and about the way she seemed to stare at me when we carried her trunk. But the thing I loved the most was her blushing. She looks so cute when she does it. I really hope she's going to be Sorted into Gryffindor with me and most probably Sirius. I'm glad he's asleep, because I'm grinning like crazy thinking about her.
Knock knock
I look at the window by the compartment and a boy with sandy hair and blue eyes is knocking. Next to him is another boy, he's quite short and has watery eyes and dark blond hair. I beckon them to come in.
"Hi, I'm Remus Lupin, and this is Peter Pettigrew. We were wondering if we could come in here, because loads of Slytherins came into out compartment and kicked us out. Here was the emptiest so we thought we could ask." He looked hopeful, and seemed rather kind and I was a bit bored.
"Of course, you can stay, I'm James Potter and that's Sirius Black." Seeing the looks on their faces, I guessed they met Sirius's deranged cousin he told me about, and I said "don't worry he's not like Bellatrix, he's planning on stopping the tradition of Slytherins and being Sorted into Gryffindor."
For the next few hours, we talked about randomness and got to know each other, and Sirius woke up and I introduced them, Sirius and I also bought the whole lunch trolley, much to Peter's pleasure. When it started to get dark, guess who came into our compartment. Yes. Lily Evans.
"Hey, Evans, what brings you here?" I asked.
"My trunk." She answered simply.
"Oh." I said, disappointed
"Well of course what also brought me here were your charming good looks."
"Really?" I asked, excited.
"No, but you can wish Potter, you can wish"
"Well, thank you."
"For what?" She asked confused
"You complemented me. You said that it wasn't my charming good looks that brought you here, but you didn't say that they didn't exist."
She looked like she wanted to face palm.
"They don't exist, but you can wish Potter."
"You already said that."
She decided to change the subject.
"Hi Remus, I didn't see you there, I was too busy-"
"You were too busy banter-flirting with Jamesie." Sirius put in.
She blushed scarlet "I was not banter-flirting with Jam-Potter!" She insisted.
"Yeah, yeah" Sirius said, and then added quieter than usual, "I call godfather."
"WHAT?!?!?" Lily exclaimed, apparently she heard him.
"Well it's obvious that when you and Jamesie get married, he ain't gonna keep his hands off you, so I wanted to dibs godfather." I noticed he was talking quieter than usual.
Lily looked disgusted, and it made me a bit sad, but maybe she might be disgusted with what I would do, rather than it was ME who did it (think bees and flowers, you'll get what I mean). She was speechless, and then walked out.
We were slowing down and I realised that Lily forgot her trunk, in the horror of what Sirius said. I decided that I would be a gentleman and carry her trunk to the huge mountain of luggage.
While I was dragging her trunk off the train, somebody walked into me. Guess who? Lily Evans.
"Hey Evans" I said confidently.
"What are you doing with my trunk?" She asked, and I sensed her getting mad.
"Chill, Evans. I'm just carrying your trunk to where the trunks get taken to the castle from." I answered.
"Oh" I heard her mutter. She looked guilty of assuming the worst but quickly regained her composure. "More like dragging it."
'Well I wouldn't be dragging it if you helped me' I thought, but decided not to say it out loud, because the perfect gentleman I am (totally modest), I would never ask for a lady's help, unlike some people *cough*cough Snivell Pants *cough*cough.
"Should I help you?" Lily asked, voicing my thoughts.
"No, I can manage." I answered, before pulling it a little bit harder, and I put it in the pile of trunks.
"Well, thank you Ja-Potter"
"No problem. How could a gentleman like me not help such a gentle, delicate flower like you."
"I am not a gentle flow-oh never mind, you're too stubborn to argue with. Anyway, thanks again for carrying, well, dragging my trunk for me, Potter"
"Lily! There you are!" Someone shouted from behind Lily-Petal. She had brown hair and eyes, she was decent looking, but I only had eyes for Lily. She turned around, saw the girl and smiled widely and shouted "Alice!" The girl, who I assumed was Alice ran over, hugged Lily (oh, I wanted to be in her place so much) and then looked at me and said
"Who's that?"
"That's Potter" Lily answered for me.
"James Potter, Lily-Pad. I have a first name you know" she looked outraged by the nickname, but seemed to let it pass.
"You're the one who calls me Evans"
"But you called me me Potter first"
Another girl, this one I knew from boring galas and balls that my parents host, came up to Alice and muttered loud enough for me to hear,
"They're like an old married couple" Apparently Lily heard because she screeched
"We most certainly are not, Marlene!"
Then, turning to me said, "When you introduced yourself, you said 'Potter, James Potter, so it's your fault"
"Whatever you say, Lily-Petal" I answered.
"DON'T CALL ME LILY-PETAL!!!"
"Alright, Lily-Flower"
"UUUURRRRGGGGGHHHH!!!!!!!!"
"Okay, okay"
"Firs' years over 'ere! Firs' years! This way!" Shouted a voice.
"James, come on" Sirius appeared next to me, dragging me away from Lily and her friends."
"Okay! Just let go."
He did as he was told, and I tripped a little, but because of my amazing coordination, (or just sheer luck) I didn't fall.
We got into the boats that were in the lake, preparing for the traditional boat ride to Hogwarts that first-years always took. Me and Sirius sat in a boat with Lily and Alice, to Lily's displeasure. She stayed silent for the ride and we all followed suit. Lily admired the scenery (the lake, the Forbidden Forest in the distance, all boring to me) while Sirius, Alice and I admired a different view. I stared at Lily, who looked so beautiful, I didn't want the boat ride to stop. Sirius was checking out all the girls, and Alice was stealing glances at a boy who had short brown hair and light hazel eyes. I'm pretty sure she fancied him. (A/N: Frank Longbottom)
Finally, the boats came to a halt, and the really tall man (not very small width ways either) lead us to the castle doors.
Three heavy knocks
KNOCK KNOCK KNOCK
