The Beast

"Guys this is my cousin, Stiles," Bella introduced as she, Stiles, and Edward sat down at a table surrounded by her very human friends.

"Hi," One of them, Jessica, Bella had told him her name was, and he could have sworn she was blushing.

"Hey," Stiles said, slumping down in his seat.

"How's the speech?" Bella asked.

"Yeah, I'm helping her with it," Mike said, looking down at a pad of paper,"My fellow students. Cool. Right? Wow. Okay, right? Cute. We are the future. Anything is possible... If you just believe."

Stiles stifled a smile, rubbing his hand on his mouth at how lame it sounded and how it sounded like it was coming from a disney channel episode.

"Nice," Angela said.

"Blah, blah, blah," Mike continued,"Perfect. And got yourself a speech," He said, ripping the paper off a pad and handing it to Jessica.

"No, this will be my speech. When I want everyone to throw diplomas at my head. So... Thank you," Jessica said, crumpling the paper and throwing it at him.

"Ya gotta embrace the cliches, Jess," Mike said.

"And that is why you are not valedictorian. And Jess doesn't need cliches. Speech is gonna be epic," Angela said.

"Epic?" Jessica said,"It's gonna change lives."

Jess reminded Stiles of Lydia a little bit, being the valedictorian, the know-it-all, and their can-do attitude. The thought made him sad.

Two other people that looked slightly similar to Edward sat down at the table, one was a small girl and the other who looked like he played lacrosse.

"Hello," Allice said to Stiles enthusiastically.

Stiles shifted uncomfortably in his seat, her yellow eyed gaze feeling like it was burning holes into him,"Hi."

"I'm Alice Cullen," She said, reaching out her hand for a shake, palm down.

Stiles hesitantly took her ice cold hand and shook it, and a look of confusion swept across her features, same with Edward's but a look of surprise flashed across Jasper's face.

Stiles let go of Alice's hand and remained silent.

Alice broke out of confused daze and looked back to the others with a smile on her face,"I decided to throw a party."

"After all, how many times are we gonna graduate high school?" Jasper asked.

Edward stifled a smile and Stiles leaned back in his chair looking at the three of them with subtle suspicion.

"A party?" Angela asked,"At your place?"

"I've never seen your house," Jessica stated, surprised.

"No one's ever seen their house," Eric said.

"Another party, Alice?" Edward asked.

"Yeah, that's what you said last time," Bella said.

Stiles noticed the sudden mood change in the four of them, and he clenched his jaw remaining silent.

Alice suddenly froze, her eyes glazing over, as if she saw something no one else did.

Bella looked to Edward concerned, and he just shrugged it off, but Stiles knew there was something else going on.

Stiles sat down on the doctor's bench, waiting for the doctor, today he could officially take his boot off and go running and jumping like he normally would.
