"okay you tell me why you're in such a mood or you are going to get kicked out of my office. What's your issue?"

"yea that's real cute. Are you gonna choke me out too? Drug me into oblivion? What the fuck happened to no violence. It's your mantra. Now all of a sudden you're killing people, hurting innocent girls like annalise. Who are you?"

That makes adrienne go quiet. I can almost feel the shame radiating.

"sera you know i'd never hurt you."

adrienne's voice portrays a deathly serious truth

"but you don't hesitate to hurt others? Her and i are the same age both in difficult circumstances. You hurt her so easily. You drugged her for how long? How long did you keep her incapacitated?"

"she needed to learn a lesson. She wasn't behaving and i needed her to break"

"how. long."

shes quiet and her answer doesn't come out as confident as she usually talks

"three weeks..."

"THREE WEEKS ARE YOU SERIOUS"

everything around me fades as my ears ring and i rely on the wall to hold me up

oh my god i've been here for almost a month. Andrew must be so worried. Oh my god. I feel tears running down my cheeks. Hot tears of burning anger, but also sadness. Not for me but for my brother. What has this done to him? Before i know it, i'm leaving the bathroom and i'm walking into her office.

"three weeks? You've kept me here for almost a month? Adrienne my family!"

she looks caught off guard that id been listening but only slightly. She scowls madly and retorts

"your family are not good people."

"my brother. My sister. Adrienne how would you feel is sera was taken and it was a month before you heard ANYTHING."

her whole demeanour changes as soon as i mention seraphina and what it would be like having her in danger. She turns her head away and wipes a quick tear off her cheek

"i'm so sorry annalise. You go home soon. We will go for dinner tonight but this needs to happen. I don't care if you hate me but you know that this HAS to happen for democracy to be restored. To bring back what your family took away. I'm sorry."

"Yea i know. Unlike others i'm not selfish and only focus on myself. I'll be ready for 7 like you said to be. Just know that i hate you for what you did not only to me but to my brother and sister. She's only a toddler. She has probably grown so much over the past month. You can never give me that back"

and i turn and walk out. I wait outside the office for seraphina. She's my only friend and i need to hold onto her.

"thanks a lot seraphina."

"it's only karma. What you did was wrong and now you have to make it up to her. Oh and if she makes you angry again try not to choke her out."

she walks out of the office and is surprised to see me waiting there. She gives me a small smile and reaches out her hand for me to take.

"i know what will make you feel better"

"haha yea what's that"

it comes out more sarcastic than intended. She leans in and whispers so adrienne doesn't hear it as we are walking away

"we are going to make you look so fucking hot she will be like a kid that's just a bit too short to reach the cookie jar. She will see all of you in your glory but she knows you aren't hers to touch."
