ᴠᴇʀʏ ɴɪᴄᴇ ᴛᴏ ᴍᴇᴇᴛ ʏᴀ"The crisp morning air burns my lungs as I lean my body over the small balcony of our apartment. Winter was coming fast, ice cold winds blowing through Korea. The trees were slowly losing all of their leaves, leaving bare bodies of wood. I run my fingers through my noir coloured locks, a soft sigh emitting from my cherry red lips. The sound of cars passing by and civilians talking fill my ears, little did I know that was the last time I'd hear normal life.
Soon the sound cars and civilians is muffled by the sound of a bass guitar coming from my living room. I turn my head, Jisu had already been up and plucking the strings of her light blue coloured instrument. That was one of the things we had in common, our passion for music. A soft smile would cross my lips as I step inside, closing the glass door behind me and taking a seat next to her. Jisu smiles my way, blowing the smoke from her cigarette into my face. I cough and roll my eyes before picking up my morning coffee and leaning against the couch, nodding my head along to the lyrics.
"ꜱʜᴇ'ꜱ ᴀ ᴋɪʟʟᴇʀ
ᴏɴᴇ ʟᴏᴏᴋ ɪꜱ ᴀʟʟ ɪᴛ ᴛᴀᴋᴇꜱ
ꜱʜᴇ'ꜱ ᴀ ᴋɪʟʟᴇʀ
ᴀɴᴅ ꜱʜᴇ ᴛᴏᴏᴋ ᴍʏ ʙʀᴇᴀᴛʜ ᴀᴡᴀʏ""Nice, what song is this? The bass part is really nice." I take a sip of my steaming hot coffee, rolling my head against our couch.
"Romantic Lover, by Eyedress. It's a little different from what we usually play but I figured you wouldn't want your ears blown off in the morning..nor do our new neighbours."
Jisu had only moved in last week, I had moved in a few days ago. Neither have us been out much which reflects on how untidy our place is..and the noise complaints piling up. We lived on the 15th floor and found it a struggle to get down to the 1st floor since the elevator was always broken. We haven't been making many new friends either, for once we decided that we should try today. Jisu turns off her amp and unplugs it from her bass, zipping it up in her case and getting up from the couch, burning the rest of her cigarette on the ash-tray.
I run to my room and throw on a tennis skirt along with a black graphic hoodie, slipping my shoes on and grabbing my guitar, I meet my friend by the door. I slip my keys into my hoodie pouch before opening the door and making my way to the elevator. Almost immediately an older lady walks down the hallway with a stroller, a small smile on her lips as she made her way over to us. I smile and bow respectfully, elbowing Jisu to do the same after noticing her zoning out and staring at a wall.
"Oh good morning ladies..have I seen you two around?" The older woman bowed her head, beaming at us.
Jisu shakes her head, "No we just moved in last week, sorry we couldn't come by and introduce ourselves..and the loud music, we get a lot of noise complaints so I apologise if you were one-"
The woman laughs and shakes her head, putting a hand on the top of her stroller. "No! Not at all, in fact, me and Da-Eun quite enjoy it. It's very lively." She nods and smiles down at her stroller, I squint my eyes to see her child before Jisu walks in front of me to see as well.
"Aww how old is she?" Jisu bends down to the stroller, trying not to jump in shock when she finds that there is no baby inside of it. Her mouth sort of just hangs before she straightens her back, regaining her composure. I realise her weird behaviour almost immediately, also realising that there isn't a child. I sort of bite the inside of my cheek, I was always a skeptic and thought the worst but this woman didn't seem..insane.
