I press my chin between my kneecaps, staring down at the coffee table while occasionally glancing over at the quiet man. He hung his head out the window, taking puffs from a cigarette. It was strangely quiet out, usually at night there would be parties and people laughing and having fun. There would usually be cars passing by. But none of that was heard. I look up to his face, seeing if I could tell what was going on outside by his expression. But he stayed emotionless, eventually throwing the remains of his cigarette out and closing the window. There was something unusual about him, something deranged.

I quickly avert my gaze back to the floor. It had to have been at least a couple of hours..very silent hours. What was happening out there? I reach for my phone from my hoodie pocket, dialling Ji-su's number and waiting for her to pick up. Instead of the usually ringing noise, it immediately ended the call. What the hell? I scrunch up my nose in confusion, wondering why there was no service.

"Do you think we should check out what's going on downstairs?.." I quietly mutter, raising my head to the man again. He turns to me, leaning against the wall as if he were contemplating before slowly nodding.

I lift myself off of the dusty couch, sliding my phone back into my pocket and heading out the door, the man following behind me. I make my way over to the elevator, reaching my hand out to press the down button before it's stopped. I look down to see his hand wrapped around my wrist, his touch causing me to shiver. His hands were hard, calloused, they held some sort of story. Before I could say anything he began to drag me to the staircase, I guess the elevator was down or something, he could've just said something though. Weirdass.

We walk down the stairs, he stops once hearing someone talking on the phone. I could recognise that voice from anywhere, Eun-yu always had that sort of annoyed tone whenever she spoke. Shortly after I hear a thump and then silence. Quickly, I rush down the stairs, the man beside me.

Eun-yu spots us and quickly turns to the wall, laying on the floor and pretending to be doing something on her phone. "Move along, I'm just relaxing here."

I roll my eyes and drag her up by the arm, "I'm pretty sure the prestigious Eun-yu wouldn't choose to lay on the floor. C'mon let's go, there's something happening down there."

She rolls her eyes at me before locking our arms together and beginning to walk down, ignoring the gangster. I look up to him and see that he's staring at something, turning my attention to the area he was looking at.

It was then a deformed womanlike creature pounced from a few flights up. How didn't we notice her before?! Her hair had been all over the place, her face was hideous, what the hell was this thing?? The creature latches onto the gangster, howling that it was hungry. A scream would erupt from my lungs, Eun-yu stood there dumbfounded, dragging the two of us away from whatever that hideous thing was.

The gangster stood, expressionless as always. The creature would sink it's dirty teeth into his back, tearing away at his skin, blood beginning to drip from his back. He forcefully grabs the creature by it's skull, throwing it backwards into the wall. Now having an advantage, he shoves his foot at the creature, kicking it into the wall. Blood would splatter on all of us, my body shook from the sight of it all.

Soon the howls of the creatures ended, the gangster let out a small huff before continuing down. Eun-yu looks me in the eye, rolling down her sleeve and using it to wipe the blood from my face before doing the same to herself. We both stood quiet, unsure of what to say after such a horrific experiencing, instead locking hands and making our way down behind the man. He handled it well and we definitely would not be able to fight something like that off by ourselves, it was safer this way.

It made me wonder, what was happening out there? Were there more bloodthirsty monsters taking innocent lives? It would cause me to shiver at the thought, my eyes stung as I try to hold back my tears from the thought of it. Eun-yu tries her best to comfort me while we make our way down, holding me close.

She seemed like a jerk sometimes but really was soft hearted.

I haven't found that soft hearted area in the gangster yet.
