5 Years Later (Mortal World Time)
Somewhere in Imbetween
(Hadrian is 9)

Hadrian race down the stairs that led to the dungeons, he skipped the last three and raced down the corridor stopping in front of a slightly ajar door that had coloured steam leaking out. Hadrian caught his breath before stepping into the Potions Lab of Salazar Slytherin. Salazar smirked at the boy that entered,
"Right on time as usual Snakelet!" Snarked Sal, Hadrian had been late to every single lesson for the past month.
"Sorry Sal, but Ro and I have made a breakthrough in my summoning charm project!" Hadrian was so excited by this project; he and Rowena had been inventing a charm that worked like the summoning charm 'Accio' but instead of the object flying through the air and hitting Hekate knows what on the way to you the object would appear right in your hand. So far, they had made it work but only non-verbally, meaning most magicals wouldn't be able to perform the charm. All you had to do was picture the object that you wanted to summon, focus your magic into your hand, then hold your hand out and make a grabbing motion in the air. If you did it right then the object would appear in the air where you were grabbing, and unless you had extremely bad reflexes you would catch it. Both Hadrian and Ro had performed it with nearby objects under safe conditions. At the moment they were working on making it possible to do with a verbal incantation, so far it hadn't worked but they weren't giving up yet.

Sal chuckled at the seven-year-old's excitable nature and gestured for him to sit at one of the desks in the room. "Well done! Now how have you gone on our project? The two had been working on a potion that would work like muggle anti-depressants and so far had melted two cauldrons and had multiple explosions. But it hadn't fazed them in the slightest. Hadrian passed over his notes and recipe. It was all done up to the standard required of potion masters because that was how Salazar had taught him. This would be their fourth draft of the potion, they had done lots of research on muggle medicine and natural antidepressants and had subsequently added them to the process, so now instead of starting with a cauldron full of pure water, they started with a cauldron full of cocoa and lavender infused water, both of which were natural mod lifters. Hadrian had changed the process so that instead of adding whole Alihosty leaves, they added them shredded and then stirred seven times clockwise, which would stop the potion from exploding. But because Alihosty leaves cause the person who ingested them to laugh uncontrollably, so Hadrian had made a sub step after adding the leaves and stirring which was adding some diluted Glumbumble treacle which would stop; the laughing while still letting the Alihosty make the drinker slightly happier. Hadrian had also added some finely ground Pogrebin hair, this creature is known to provoke despair and lethargy in its victims, but adding some crushed striped carnation seeds, and some whole yellow carnation petals countered the effect of the Pogrebin hair and left the drinker with a feeling of peace and serenity when combined in the potion. Hadrian had added a step on the end that Salazar found slightly curious, you took the cauldron off the heat and left it to sit for three minutes you then added a whole pansy flower that had been soaked in Re'em blood for 24 hours to the centre of the potion. And make sure it dissolved, if so, the potion was successful and if not, then you would have to try again.

"Snakelet?" Hadrian hummed response "Why have you added the pansy soaked in Re'em blood?" Hadrian chuckled before responding,
"Well, do you know Victorian flower language?" Salazar thought for a bit before saying
"Not off by heart, but I know the meanings of the most prominent flowers and all of the plants used in potions. Why?" Hadrian nodded then said
"Okay, so the pansy flower means thoughts and Re'em blood is known for its strengthening properties, so together it means strength of thoughts. It will hopefully provide mental strength to the drinker which will help them combat negative thoughts and will re-new their resolve and will. Hopefully, there will be no other effects when combined with the rest of the potion, I haven't done any testing yet." Salazar nodded proud of his Snakelet's work, he himself would not have thought of using flowers and their meanings. It was very forward thinking and showed just how far the boy had come in potion brewing.
"Well Snakelet? Should we try it out?" Hadrian nodded eagerly before running to a desk and setting up a crystal cauldron which would help keep the potion light and pure. Setting it onto the stand and lighting a silver fire underneath, Hadrian began his brew. Salazar looked on, occasionally commenting or correcting, but mostly admiring the elegance and confidence with which the boy moved. He seemed to be in his element and both Hadrian and Salazar lost track of time. Eventually Hadrian got to the stage of taking it of the fire and letting it sit. As soon as the fire was extinguished Hadrian cast a nonverbal stasis charm on it making sure that it would be kept in the same state until the pansy was ready. Hadrian went to the potion cupboard and took out a bottle of Re'em blood. He then used his summoning charm to summon a pansy. Placing them on the table he then proceeded to empty the Re'em blood into a pure crystal bowl. Ever so carefully, he placed the pansy into the centre of the bowl before letting out a huge sigh when nothing bad happened. Setting a magical timer for 23½ hours. Salazar grinned at his Snakelet before casting a tempest charm and letting out a small squeak, which he would deny if anyone asked him about it.
