Camila's POV

I tried to stay strong for the rest of the day. Though it was very hard when everywhere I went I saw Lauren and had another nasty comment spit in my face. I couldn't take it anymore. I was drained emotionally and just wanted to go home.

As if on cue, the loud school bell rings announcing the end of school. I quickly pack up my books and stuff them into my bag before slinging it onto my shoulders and slowly walking out of the classroom.

I was walking a bit sluggish because no matter how fast I wanted to get out of this hell hole my body and mind were so tired and confused I couldn't walk any faster. Obviously everybody else had places to be and quickly shoved me out of the way. Until one guy pushed me particularly hard and I fell to the ground roughly, my phone flying forwards out if my hand. I slowly pick myself up before I look on the ground for my phone. The hallways are quiet now since most of the students are gone.

I look around the open hallway ground but can't find my phone, until I see a pair of squeaky clean red Jordan's. I trail my eyes up his body to see Austin with a sly smirk on his face and my phone in his hand.

"You looking for this?" He asks but doesn't offer it to me, instead looking at it. "It's weird, you never texted me back, did you give me a fake number?" He laughs then hands me it back.

"No, I got your text." I laugh, "I was just..." I trail off when I look past Austin to see Lauren and some guy together. Her attention was not at all on the guy with his lips attached to her neck, but at me. Her eyes were staring right into my soul and she looked...mad?

I quickly shake my head to release myself from Lauren's gaze and turn back to Austin.

"I was just busy." I say and he shrugs.

"Well now that I have your attention, do you maybe want to go on a date? Tomorrow night maybe?" Austin asks shyly.

I look back at Lauren to see her eating face with that guy and I felt a sharp pain in my heart, weird.

"Uhhh... sure." I agree to Austin and he nods excitedly.

"Ok cool... so I'll text you the details as long as you promise to reply this time?" He teases.

"Yeah... of course I will." I laugh along with him.

"Alright awesome, text you later then."

"Alright, bye." I wave at him and he reciprocates before we head our separate ways.

I realize I have to walk straight by Lauren and that pig in order to get to the door that leads me home. They are still in a face feast so I hope I can just walk by them without the noticing.

I take a deep breath and start to move my feet forward only to see Lauren break away from the kiss to look at me. She just stares at me the whole time I'm walking, never releasing me from her glare.

It's like she sees right through me, she makes me feel so awkward and vulnerable, so I just stare down at my feet even though I can feel her eyes burn through the back of my head the whole way out.

I head home at a steady pace while a million questions run through my mind.

Why was Lauren looking at me like she was mad? Maybe even... jealous? There's no way Lauren is jealous! She probably is mad that Austin was asking me out because she couldn't believe anyone would want to go out with me. But what about what she said at the party. She said he can't have me... she wants me. That's not true, she didn't want me, she wanted sex from me. And I fell for her. I mentally slap myself for even thinking it meant something to her.

I decide to stop thinking about her and focus on making my way home before I jump in front of a car with all my frustration.

I make it into the front door safely and am immediately attacked with questions from my mom.

"How was school honey?"

"Fine."

"What did you learn?"

"Stuff."

"What kind of stuff?"

"Stuff that makes my brain explode and really tired... so if you don't mind I'm going to go take a nap."
I say and quickly rush up the stairs to my room and shut the door.

Throwing my bag on the ground somewhere I fall on my bed and lay on my back. Taking a deep breath I'm just happy to be in my room, alone, with the peace and quiet.

"Hey Mila!!" Dinah bangs through my door and shouts, quickly find herself in my desk chair and looking at her phone.

"Ugh... Dinah!" I groan and roll over onto my stomach, burying my face into a pillow.

"What's wrong girl?" Dinah puts her phone down and looks at me.

I sigh but sit up and scoot down to the end of the bed, sitting with my feet hanging off. I play with fingers and look at them just thinking, until I realized that Dinah asked me something.

"Huh? Oh nothing... nothing's wrong." I lie and continue looking at my hands.

She stares me down with her hand on her chin like she's examining me deeply.

"Mhm... you're lying. Now tell me." She demands and I know I can't get myself out of this. Dinah always knows when I'm lying.

I close my eyes and take a deep breath before looking at her.

"Lauren and I had sex." I mumble really quick and plug my ears preparing for her to freak.

Her mouth drops open and she stares at me in shock.

"When?!" She gasps.

"At the party Friday, it wasn't some guy from my school." I state.

"Mila that's your virginity!" Dinah pouts concerned for me.

"I know!" I whined because even I was pissed I lost it to Lauren.

"Are you guys like... dating now?" Dinah asks and I can't help but laugh.

"Fuck no! God she's still the same bitch she was before the party. She told be it was a drunken mistake and that I'm basically worthless. I can't even believe I thought it meant something to her." I admit and can feel the tears falling from my eyes without my permission.

Dinah immediately rushes over to the bed and sits next to be, wrapping me in her arms.

"I'm so sorry Camila." Dinah says and strokes the back of my head. "I'm gonna kick her ass, I promise."

I laugh but pull away to look at her.

"No don't do that. I appreciate your help but I don't need you to fight my own fights. I'd probably seem even more pathetic to Lauren." I say and wipe some tears from my eyes.

"Who gives a fuck what she thinks!" Dinah says and hugs me again.

"I don't..." I say more to myself than Dinah. "Not anymore."
