Camila's POV
I sit in my first period listening to Mr. Reynolds talk passionately about the history of America while I tap the end of my pencil on the desk. I rest my head on my hand and can't help but drift off a little.I hardly got any sleep last night after Lauren left my house last night. All I could do was stay up, tossing and turning in my bed, thinking about everything that happened that night. I didn't see her this morning, due to my tardiness from sleeping in, so I don't know what to expect from her when I do see her and honestly I'm freaking out. I was excited about her saying she wants be friends with me, but also a little scared. I mean agreeing to have a secret friendship with my bully? Was I right to except her apology or should I have just kicked her straight to the curb? Too late now I guess.
Sleep catches up to me and I end up face down on my desk, eyes shut and dreaming away. Until I get a rude interruption.
"Miss. Cabello?" Mr. Reynolds approaches me but I don't hear him.
"Miss. Cabello." Mr. Reynolds says harshly and firmly taps on my shoulder waking me from my slumber.
"Wha-huh?" I mumble and quickly snap my head up.
"Late and sleeping in my class?" He asks sarcastically.
"Yeah, uh. I'm sorry. I didn't sleep good last night and-"
"I don't need an explanation. Just don't let it happen again." He starts walking away from my desk and returns back to the board as I shrink down in my seat to try and hide from the group of eyes staring in my direction.
None the less the bell finally rings, dismissing us all from our first class and sending us towards our next. I pack my bags and hurry out of the room just like all the other students.
Walking down the hall I finally spot Lauren, but she's with her "friends." But something different happens she actually smiles at me.
"Hi-" She says kindly but then remembers we're in public "-hey fucktard. How's your shitty day going?" And I don't really like the change in her voice.
"Almost as shitty as me." I add with a fake smile hoping to remind her of her comments about me being trash yesterday.
She looks down at feet for a second almost looking guilty, but she shakes it off and looks up at me defensively again.
"That's great to hear. As much as I'd love to stay here and insult you some more we have to get going to class." She lies.
"Aww no, really? You have to go?" I pout sarcastically.
Immediately Lauren steps closer till we're face to face extremely close.
"You better watch that attitude of yours Camz. This isn't a game." She says and she seems very serious.
Before I can respond she's halfway down the hall with the rest behind her.
I feel sick again. Maybe I took it too far with the joking around. Maybe I should still be scared of Lauren, she seemed very dangerous just then. Even if that was her bullying down a notch it still didn't fail to leave me with a knot in my throat and fear in my chest.

I didn't see Lauren for the rest of the day thankfully because I wouldn't know how to act if I saw her again. However I was on my way to meet Lauren behind the school so we could go to her house for tutoring. We had made a plan to wait 15 minutes after school got out so most of the students would be gone. Then she would drive behind the school and pick me up to go to her house. Of course we planned this so she wouldn't get caught being seen with me. Can't let that happen.
