"So tell me what going on and why you're so shaken up" Jordan sat on his bed & Jaaliyah sighed
"Uhm...most people think I was stressed because I was juggling three sports at once but that isn't the problem." Jaaliyah started to explain pinching the bridge of my nose
"Okay so what is?" Jordan asked concerned
"My moms death anniversary is coming up....the only reason I'm as bad as I am now is because I have some stuff in Crenshaw going on. She was killed Infront of my eyes. I have nightmares of that day everytime her birthday, Mother's Day, my birthday, Christmas, thanksgiving, and her anniversary come around. It's basically like these nightmares never stop. I've learnt to deal with them but around special holidays is when I can't take it. I go to sleep to escape reality but it's not working anymore." Jaaliyah explained as she fidgeted with the rings on her fingers.
Speaking about any of her family members was an issue. She hated it and she felt as if she didn't wanna speak about it, she didn't have to, which wasn't the case.
Jordan didn't say anything he just hugged Jaaliyah as tears came out of both of their eyes.
Jordan didn't understand why he cared so much for the girl. He had barely known her under a week. It didn't make sense to him mentally, but emotionally he felt for her
"Jordan..." Jaaliyah sniffled
"Yes?" Jordan released her from the hug looking into her eyes
"I saw her....I saw my mom." Jaaliyah said. She felt like it wouldn't make sense to him because not everyone believes in the spiritual world. Although most people didn't believe it was real, it very much was.
"Is that why you were crying when you woke up?" Jordan asked and Jaaliyah nodded
"I was dead but she told me it wasn't my time and sent me back. She said people need me here but I don't believe that" Jaaliyah looked down.
She didn't think she was capable of being loved or anything close to it so why would people need her?
"Hey don't say that. I need you here. You believe in me when no one else is" Jordan said as he kissed her forehead and handed her some tissue
"That means a lot Jordan" Jaaliyah patted under her eyes with the tissue
"Now that you've got that out of your system we are gonna have a "GiRlS" night" he squealed as she laughed
"But you're not a girl?" She tilted her head pointing out the obvious
"Doesn't mean I can't pretend to be one... imma order pizza and while we wait on that we can go decorate your room. Listening to music and dance." He said getting up
"You're funny bro." Jaaliyah laughed getting up with him
"I know I also wanna see your shoe collection cause every time I see you at school you're dripped out." Jordan said
"Okay come on" She said walked out of his room heading to hers as he followed me
"Ok so first we have to set up my shoes..it's a big walk in closet so thank the lord I don't have to hang shoe boxes on the wall" She sighed knowing this would be a long process
