Deuce x Reader (Romantic)

The Way of the House Husband

"No please.....say it ain't so....!"

You begged, trapped in the situation that you and your husband found yourselves in. How you got there? Well....

You'd just gotten home from a long day at work only to find your beloved husband Deuce outside your home looking like he'd just been through the wringer. Confused and concerned you'd went to him to see what was wrong with him and to see if he was alright, which thankfully he was. It was then he'd dropped the bomb on you.

"(Y/N), we have an intruder in the house. I tried to stop him but he was just too fast!"

Deuce said sounding defeated. You grew worried at what he said. An intruder? Your eyes flickered towards your house and then back to your husband. That's when you noticed the can of bug spray in his hand. You nearly sagged with relief. Ah so it was a bug intruder. You could handle that.

"Well then why don't we try and get the intruder together? After all two heads are better than one."

You suggested with a smile. Deuce gave you a somewhat nervous look.

"Are you sure? I don't wish to put you in danger!"

He said worried for you. Your heart melted a bit at his concern for you despite it being for something small.

"Yes I'm sure. I can handle it, besides I've got you with me in case something does happen yeah?"

You asked with a cute tilt of your head. Deuce finally smiled a bit and nodded.

"Of course! Alright, then let's do this!"

Deuce declared as he lead the way back inside the house with you following close behind him. The house was quiet, everything was still in place, save for a few newspapers and magazines on your coffee table. You stepped inside more looking around for any signs of movement when you finally saw it. A huge roach was chilling on your wall. You wanted to scream a bit, but you held back the urge to instead grabbing one of the magazines and rolling it up. Deuce glared at the insect, his can of spray ready to take him out, with you on standby should he need you.

What the two of you failed to realize was that cockroaches could fly, so when Deuce went to spray it, the bug went flying. You let out a startled shriek and Deuce swore loudly as the two of you dodged the nasty bug's flight range. Deuce desperately tried to spray it and you swung your magazine bat trying to hit it when it happened. The one thing that you weren't expecting to happen. The roach had landed right on Deuce's chest and didn't move. You both froze, a heavy silence between you two.

"No please.....say it ain't so....!"

You begged him, not wanting to believe this tragic turn of events. Deuce looked at you, his blue eyes filled with determination.

"(Y/N)....you have to do it. You have to finish this."

He said gravely. You paled at what he was suggesting.

"No....! Deuce please! Don't make me do this! Don't make me carry the burden of crushing a cockroach on my husband's chest!"

You pleaded with him but he didn't back down.

"You must or else we'll lose. I'll be alright, trust me sweetheart. Just finish this, for us....for me."

He said softly. With a nod of regret you put on a stiff upper lip and went towards him your magazine ready to end this bug's bloodline. However you'd forgotten one important detail. You had sucky aim. Instead of hitting Deuce's chest, you'd hit him square on the cheek, knocking him flat on his ass.

"Oh god! I'm sorry honey!"

You apologized horrified. Deuce looked up at you dazed before snapping out of it. Getting up shakily he stumbled towards the kitchen window seal that held your essential oil burner.

"We'll just use this! Roaches hate the smell of citrus and herb fragrances! He won't stand a chance!"

Deuce said lightning it up and sitting down by the coffee table. You sat down next to him and the two of you sat quietly as the burner started to give off its scents. You and Deuce relaxed as soon as you both got a wiff one thought going through both of your minds as you slowly forgot about why you brought it out in the first place.

'It's so relaxing.'
