Selena's POV
I have never seen Taylor any happier. She's at such a great place now. She is working on new music, spending time with her kids and friends. I know Taylor went to see Ed the other day. I like him well enough, and I hope he is able to fit into her life. I just don't want her heart to get broken. She has so many other things to worry about now. I was thrilled when she asked me to come to New York for a few days to celebrate Kayla's birthday. I love spending time with Kayla and Owen. I was surprised Taylor had never taken them to a musical. When Kayla saw how big the theater was she started jumping up and down because the excitement couldn't be contained in her little body. The show was great. I've never seen a poor performance of the Lion King. Owen sat on my lap the whole time. He fell asleep after intermission. I carried him home and helped him get ready for bed.Tomorrow we're heading out of the city and to the beach. Taylor and I have plans to do something while we are at the beach. I can't wait to see how it will work out.
Taylor's POV
Although I am exhausted, I am pleased. Kayla loved the Lion King. Owen enjoyed the part he stayed awake for. Selena helped me put the kids to bed. We stayed up late talking and eating junk food. I opened my laptop to see if the paparazzi had sold any pictures of us walking to the theater earlier. There were none. Our plan is working beautifully. I got many comments on my Instagram picture. A few late night talk show hosts asked to meet with me sometime this week, but I politely declined. Kayla starts school in about a week and I want to spend as much time with her as I can. Soon it will be just me and Owen at home during the week.
I had fallen asleep on the couch with a bag of popcorn in my hand. When I woke up I spilled it every where and had to get out the vacuum to clean it up. My vacuuming woke the whole apartment up. If Selena wasn't here to help out, I would probably be running around like a mad person. Owen made us chase him around the house before he would let us put sunscreen on him. I had to pack the diaper bag, and the beach bag. Next thing I know I'll be buying a mini van. I texted Ed just as we were leaving the apartment. Leaving the apartment now. It takes so long to get the kids ready to go. See you soon. I ran through my mental checklist before locking the door.
"You're such mom," commented Selena.
"Someday you'll understand." I replied
"We should have a girls night out, like the good old days."
"I am in desperate need of a night out."
"Great! Next week we can do something."
We exit from the elevator and walk out to the car. After a short drive we arrive at the beach.
"Kayla, can you please help carry something."
"Yeah."
I hand her the bag of beach toys. Once everything is out of the trunk we head towards the boardwalk that leads to the beach. I spotted Ed's red hair right away. He saw me and waved. Kayla and Owen ran over to him and hugged his legs. I walked up behind the kids.
"It's great to see you again Taylor," he said going in for a hug.
"It's good to see you too. I know you've met Selena before. She's staying with me for a few days to help out with Kayla and Owen."
"Hi," Selena said while walking over.
"Hi."
"Ed if you don't mind, we'll be playing in the water for a while."
"It's not a problem at all. I mean, we are at a beach."
"True. Owen, let's put on your water wings and then we can get in."
