Andrea's POV

"Look Owen. There's your big sister!" I pointed out as I pulled up to Kayla's school. Everyone in the car waved to Kayla.

"Hi Grandma, Hi Grandpa." Kayla greeted each of as she climbed in.

"No hello for Uncle Austin?" Austin asked pretending to sound hurt.

"Hi." Kayla smiled.

"How was school today kid? Did you learn anything interesting?"

"School is so long and boring." She replied. I could see Austin smiling from the back seat. He wasn't a fan of school either.

"Where would you like to go for dinner sweetheart?" I asked pulling out of the parking lot.

"Chik-fil-a!"

"Would you want to go somewhere a little bit nicer? A sit down restaurant perhaps." Suggested Scott. The whole family came along to pick up Kayla so we could all go out to dinner.

"No, there is an indoor playground there." I shook my head. You can't change the decision of a six year old and expect it to go well.

"Okay, Chik-fil-a it is." Taylor would not be happy with me, but at least Owen and Kayla would be. Taylor try's to make homemade food and eat in as often as possible, seeing that it is a much healthier option.

"Can I go play now?" Kayla asked after she finished her chicken strips.

"Yes. First wipe off your hands." She ran off with Owen.

"We will leave in fifteen minutes. Okay?" I yelled up to the play structure. Kayla gave me a thumbs up through one of the windows. Austin, Scott and I sat and finished our meal while the kids played. I got a text from Taylor asking us to take Kayla and Owen back to our place. She is going to be later than she thought.

Kayla's POV

Grandma took us back to her house after dinner. She is not sure what time mommy will get back. I guess I'm used to mommy being gone a lot. Owen, Austin and I played pretend castle in the basement. I was the queen who was having a tea party with my subjects. Grandma walked down with some laundry.

"Grandma you are invited to the Royal Tea Party." I stated officially.

"Well, what kind of tea is the queen serving today?" She asked playing along.

"Red and green." I replied.

"I will try some of the red tea." Grandma said taking a seat. I poured her a glass of water.

"Kayla, can I please have some more of the green tea?" Asked Austin. I went around pouring tea for Grandma and Austin. Owen had already gone to bed in the guest room.

"Does the queen have any school work tonight?"

"No Grandma." I'm not allowed to play before homework. "People are giving their family presentations this week."

"How long does it take for each person? I need to leave for work afterwards." Uncle Austin said.

"Can't you stay for a little while after?" Grandma asked.

"I meeting a client around lunch time. I suppose I could come back."

I decided I should explain how the day works if Uncle Austin was going to come back from work for me. "There are two people a day. I am sharing my day with a girl named Sophia. I don't know her very well."

Grandma nodded. "It's only the first week of school. You will have plenty of time to get to know people. I want you to know that all of us will be at school to support you tomorrow."
