 Chapter 1

Third Person POV

A young girl was seen walking through the airport sporting black combat boots and a navy green military jacket. Glasses covering her face since she has now made it to the sunshine state.

Hawai'i

Making it to the double sliding doors, the young woman smiled as her skin warmed up quickly from the sun beating down on her causing a small glow. Doing a quick glance around she walked up towards a black SUV where a man was holding a sign with her name on it.

"Lt. Jenkins?"

"In the flesh."

The man moved towards the back of the SUV to open the door for her.

"Welcome to Hawai'i."

Climbing into the car, she sent him a small smile as she ran her hand through her curls fixing them from the long plane flight there.

"It's good to be here."

Abigail made a substantial change when she decided to come to Hawai'i after she was discharged from her service with the Navy. She never thought that she would be in the state let alone away from Jersey but look at her now.

The drive to the governmental building was not a long one but it was not short either. Abigail decided to meet with the governor of Hawai'i since it was truly her father that spoken with the governor that got her the job in the first place, so she wanted to thank her in person while also needing to be sworn in.

"Lt. Jenkins, we've arrived."

Lost in her thoughts, Abigail glanced at her left to see the door open and the driver waiting for her to step out.

"Thank you for the ride."

"Just doing my job ma'am."

Sending him another smile, Abigail began her walk towards the office of the woman who gave her the job as an office on the Five-0 task force.

To be honest, Abigail was nervous. This is the first time since she has been in the service that someone finally wanting to see her for herself and not in her father's shadow.

Ever since she joined the Navy, Every. Single. Person. Has tried to compare her to her father, no matter how much she tries to tell them, or how bad she tried to be different. She was still compared to "Admiral Jenkins". She scuffed every time she heard his name around her.

Yes, she loved her father, but did she want him to be the reason as to why she got what she got... No ... no one ever does. Abigail worked hard for her title and she was not going to allow anyone to tell her different.

"Lt. Jenkins. Gov. Dennings is waiting for you in his office."

A young woman leads the way through the large building,

Yeah, deff would have gotten lost.

Abigail laughed to herself as she thought about how bad she was with direction and was silently thanking the receptionist for showing her the way to the office.

"Gov. Dennings Lt. Jenkins is here for you."

The young girl stepped aside allowing for Abigail's face to show to the man behind the desk who was signing papers before he looked up with a smile.

"Abby~"

"Hi Uncle Sam, how are you?"

The two met in the middle of the office with a hug. It's truly been a while since they last saw one another. Abigail was Sam's youngest and only niece, and he would move mountains to protect her, but when she went into the military like her father, Sam knew that Abigail could protect herself.
