Chapter 6

Third Person POV

The team was having a tuff week. Steve was having personal troubles, Danny with his ex-wife, Abigail and her father, Chin wasn't talking to Kono and no one knew why. Everything was just out of wack.

The group was walking back into the office and the air was thick, too thick. Abigail was officially fed up with everyone's attitudes.

"Alright that's it. Tomorrow is our off day, let's get together?"

The girl face held a hopeful look as she looked over her co-workers. All of their faces looked as if they were thinking of ways to get out of it.

"Okay, how about this, my house 2pm, cook out, and no you can't get out of it. So, I will see yall then."

With a small smile, Abigail walked away from the group and drove away; while everyone else was still standing there as if they didn't have anything to do.

"Did she just-"

Danny muttered.

"Yep, see you guys tomorrow."

Chin shook his head, giving the boys a slight wave and walking off towards his bike and drove off. The rest soon followed suit and went their separate ways and rested until tomorrow happened.

Well all but Abigail, she was up prepping for everything. When she left HQ, she went right to the store buying everything they would need to make tomorrow fun, well at least she hoped it would be fun.

The girl was in the middle of tenderizing the steak when her phone started going off. She cussed to herself before yelling out to her Alexa to turn the music she had playing down.

"Abigail Jenkins."

"Ah, lieutenant."

"May I ask who's calling?"

The voice on the other side belonged to a woman, but no woman she was familiar with.

"Sorry where are my manners, and yours? You don't remember me?"

Abigail pulled the phone away from her ear to look at the number, seeing that it wasn't saved in her phone she bought it back to her ear to respond with a slight attitude.

"Am I meant to? Who is this?"

"Abby~ You're telling me you don't remember your best friend... Gosh I feel forgotten."

Abigail dropped the hammer in her hand and covered her mouth to muffle her screams, even though she was the only one in the house.

"Jada?!"

"The one and only bitch!!"

Abigial's face held the biggest smile. She hasn't heard from her friend since she went spec ops, and that was three years ago. The girl never thought she would hear from her again unless it was by family coming to tell her that Jada died.

"Girl where the hell have you been?"

"Now you know I can't tell you that, but what I can tell you is that I'm finally discharged~"

Abigail could hear the girl moving around on the other end indicating that she was doing a little happy dance. A small chuckle left from Abigial before she started talking again.

"Come to Hawai'i."

"I'm sorry what?"

"Come to Hawai'i. I got a job down here-"

"Doing what MP?"

"No, smart ass, actual Policing."

Silence entered the call; Abigail could tell she was thinking about the request.
