Blossompaw awoke to a sharp pain in her shoulder. She felt her skin being torn, and hot red blood dripping from her cut. She whipped around in surprise, awaking from her ominous dream. She instinctively shot out an unsheathed paw to bat away her attacker, but they were quicker. The cat slashed her shoulder, then her face. Blossompaw yowled as she hit the ground with a thump, her bones jarred from the fall. Her face was burning like fire, and she put a paw to where she felt the pain. Her shoulder was also in pain, and felt tender. She gritted her teeth, gasping for breath. At first, she thought she had lost an eye. But then she realized that her opponents claw had slashed her eyelid, not her actual eye. Still, that didn't lessen the pain at all.
"Hurry up, you little runt" a voice snarled unsympathetically. Blossompaw could tell by the voice that it was Robinpelt. She had come to get her for her execution.
"Can you just give me a break! For StarClans sake, I go to sleep already in pain and terrified, and then I wake up to a blazing pain in my shoulder! What the fox-dung is wrong with you!?" Blossompaw screamed in the cats face. Robinpelt looked alarmed at first, but then regained her confidence.
"How dare you talk to me like that? I am a cat of great power, and I shall be treated as such! Now, I said hurry up, you stupid runt!" Robinpelt retorted, and then tried to kick Blossompaw. But she moved out of the way, dodging the attack. Robinpelt was blocking the exit, her only chance of survival.
If I could just get past her, I could climb a tree, and I could escape! Blossompaw thought, hope flaring inside of her. But it was not that simple. Robinpelt was a fierce fighter, and a good one at that.
The red and brown she cat leapt at Blossompaw full speed, and missed her by a hair. Blossompaw barely ducked underneath her, and slipped out just in time. Robinpelt crashed into the wall, dazed. The exit was right in front of Blossompaw. At first, though her instincts were screaming at her, she hesitated. This was where she had spent all of her, yes short, but meaningful life. This was where she had grown up, and been born. This was the forest that held all of her memories. Most of them horrible and bloody, but also wonderful. The times that she had spent playing with her siblings in the nursery, the time she had had her first mouse. This was the forest where she had opened her eyes, and learned to walk. And what about her Clanmates? Surely most of them would die without her there to protect them. She was the only one brave enough to do it. And what if Larksong came back looking for her? And what about her new friends, Nightpaw and Thrushpaw. She would even miss Starlingpaw! Snotty, bratty, spoiled Starlingpaw. She would never miss her sister. Not one bit. That one time Whisperpaw had attacked her had broken the sacred sisterly bond that kin shared. Just because Whisperpaw only gave her a few cuts didn't mean it was a minor injury. It was an injury to her heart. Her own sister, flesh and blood, kin, had attacked her. She had meant to hurt her. And she had. She had hurt Blossompaw in so many ways. Physically, mentally, emotionally...
Suddenly, a grunt erupted from Robinpelt. She was slowly lifting her head, and rising from the ground.
I don't have much time! If I stay I will be killed! Mother isn't here to help me, Nightpaw and Thrushpaw won't do anything, and neither will my own litter mates! StarClan will definitely not help me, because I don't believe in them, and even if I did they still won't help me! I have to decide...
Inside of Blossomoaw a battle with her heart and her mind was raging. She felt as if the world was collapsing around her. Finally, she came to a decision. She walked straight over to Robinpelt, and stood up straight. She allowed Robinpelt to get up.
"Take me. I am willing to die" she meowed.

Russetkit felt himself being swept away by the cool water around him. There was a world of blue all around him, and even though he was in water, he could breathe.
Of course I can. I'm a StarClan cat, Russetkit thought.
He didn't really know what to do at this point. Why had his father wanted him to jump in here? When Nessie had appeared Gingerstar had said that this lake was special... And Minnowsplash wanted him to go help his sister. So...
This was a portal to Earth! That's why Minnowsplash wanted him to come here! Because there was probably a way he could transport to Earth from here. But... How?
Suddenly, he could faintly see the outline of Nessie gracefully swimming words him.
Oh no. She's coming to get me. I don't want her to return me to StarClan, I want to go through the portal. I need to, for Blossompaw! Russetkit thought frantically as Nessie came closer and closer.
"Stop!" Russetkit yelped clearly. He thought the water would prevent him from speaking clearly, and his voice would sound muffled and bubbly. But his voice was clear as a blue sky.
Nessie seemed to understand. Russetkit didn't know how though. Nevertheless, Nessie started paddling away, disappearing int the deep, dark, murky depths below. The last thing Russetkit saw was the greenish blue, pointy wisp of her tail.
She must speak cat, or had heard the tone of my voice, Russetkit pondered the bought. But then he shook his head, trying to focus on the task that was present. He didn't really know what to do at this point. How could he get through the portal to Earth?
Suddenly, a muffled splash sounded above Russetpaw. He could faintly make out a gingery figure in the water, but it was difficult to see against the glare of the sun, and the murky water. Then, and second creature joined the other one in the water. Russetkit could definitely tell they were cats. One of the looked like Minnowsplash, and the other one was...
GINGERSTAR!
Russetkit screeched in surprise. What would she do to him? Would she punish him? He knew she would definitely prevent him from rescuing Blossompaw. He had to think quickly. But what was Minnowsplash doing here? Had he decided to disobey StarClan and jump in like Russetkit was doing? Then it dawned on him. Minnowsplash was trying to stop Gingerstar from catching up to Russetkit. He was trying to buy his son time.
"Go!" Minnowsplash screeched. Russetkit didn't know what to do though. Which direction to go to, or what exactly would happen when he transported from StarClan to Earth.
But there was a reason his name was Minnowsplash. The orange tom swam quickly, darting back and forth, to and fro, side to side, pumping his legs and body as hard as he could so he could match Gingerstars pace. He suddenly caught on to her tail, and dragged her back. She yelped with surprise. Minnowsplash started batting her face, putting his paw over her mouth so she couldn't speak. Russetkit was astonished. He knew Minnowsplash would never hurt the beloved Leader, but be had never seen his father fight with anyone, let alone his previous Clan Leader.
"Go! Go deeper down!" Minnowsplash instructed. Then, Russetkit understood. To reach Earth, he had to go down as deep as he could, until he couldn't go down any deeper. At least, that's what he was interpreting from his father.
With a sudden lurch, Gingerstar broke free of the toms grip and started racing towards Russetkit in the water. She looked like a fish, the way she was moving. Like Minnowsplash, only a little less graceful. Russetkit knew he didn't have much time.
He started pumping his legs, stroking and kicking out. He wiggled his body and every thing he could do to increase his pace. Soon, he lost sight of the two battling Warriors, and he relaxed a little bit, though he kept a steady pace. He realized that he actually loved the water. He loved the feel of its cool, slithery feel on his skin, and the way it made his fur fluff out and made it softer. The way that he could move gracefully, like a fish, or a minnow. He loved all the colors dazzling in the water, and up near the top, it was like a rainbow, with the sun dazzling and reflecting off of the water, creating an array of many colors. He felt relaxed, letting the smooth current swirl him around, surrendering to the elements forces.
Russetkit snapped back to reality. He had to stop wasting time. Blossompaw was down on Earth, probably about to die. He didn't exactly know what she was doing at the moment, but he was sure that she was at her execution, where she would be killed.
He started swimming once more, and soon saw a faint, sky blue colored glow. He wasn't sure what it was, and was a little frightened. But curiosity got the best of him, and he ended up swimming forward to see what it was. Maybe it was the portal to Earth. He started to wonder what had happened to Minnowsplash. He would surely be punished for defying orders from his old Leader, and basically the whole of StarClan. But he didn't know what Gingerstar and the other cats would do about Russetkit. Would they go searching for him, or stay in StarClan, waiting for his return? Russetkits best guess was that they would try to stay in contact with him through visions and such, but they wouldn't do something as big as coming to his rescue.
Cowardly fur balls, Russetkit thought with disgust. He chuckled as he noticed that's exactly what Blossompaw would say. He was very excited to see her again... If she wasn't dead by the time he got there.
The light blue glow started to increase as he got closer and closer, and soon enough the faint ember of light turned into a blinding burst. He had to close his eyes as he came closer and closer, and by now he was sure this was the portal to Earth. Finally, he swam through, and screeched as the light disappeared, and he felt himself dropping.
