Ten years had passed since Lance had disappeared from Keith's life, and within those ten years the raven had lost both his parents and most of his friends. The only thing he managed to salvage was his older brother Shiro. Now being eighteen-years-old Keith was certain that the brunet had forgotten about him and the memories they made together, so he decided to let them fade away too as he grew up. After ten years he had finally started to piece his life back together and was starting to open up to people yet again. Shiro noticed this change in his younger brother and was relieved to see him finally moving on with his life.

Now when the raven looked back on it he had to call himself childish for thinking he'd be able to see Lance again by going to the old house and waiting for him or writing a letter to him everyday knowing he'd never get a response from him. No, he was finally happy the be rid of the one thing that's held him down for the past ten years of his life. He got better grades at school, became more motivated to do his jobs, and started helping his brother more at the house. He was finally moving on, but that was only during the day. At night, well, that was a different story altogether.

At night he'd continue to have those nightmares or bad dreams of his, but they weren't as frequent as they used to be. Keith simply put up with them as he always did but his brother insisted he get some insomnia pills to help him sleep better. The raven decided to trust his brother with his suggestion so he began to save up some money to buy a bottle, but he'd need to get checked out by a doctor before he could get them. He took the initiative and made the appointment and made sure he'd have enough for both the medicine and the appointment fee. That was in two days, so he was at the flourist's shop working on different arrangements and restocking the shelves.

While Keith was picking out flowers for an arrangement, the bell at the door chimed. Without looking up from his work, the raven called out to the new customer.

"I'll be with you in just a minute, so look around for anything that might catch your eye."

The customer didn't reply but their steps was all the confirmation the raven needed to know that his words reached them. After finishing his arrangement, Keith placed it on the counter where pick-ups went then wiped his hands on his green apron as he made his way for the cash register. He picked up a clipboard and pen so he could check off another order he had made before looking it over again to see what else he'd need to put together. While doing so he hadn't noticed the customer walk up to the counter he was behind. They cleared their throat which in turn gained Keith's attention.

"Hola mi amigo. Me gustaría comprarles esto."

"Uhhh..." Keith was at a loss for words. He knew how to speak a few different languages thanks to his mother and brother, but he couldn't understand a word this customer was saying.

Taking the hint, the customer cleared their throat once again and took in a deep breath. "Sorry, force of habit. Haven't been in the states for a while. I was saying I'd like to buy these from you," the customer raised a small bouquet of irises with a smile.

"Oh, uh, yeah. Okay." Keith took the bouquet from the man's hands and scanned the bar code on the plastic covering before handing it back to the customer. "That'll be $5.75 today."

"Damn, only got a five on me."

"I can take a few out from the bouquet so that it'll be worth five dollars total, taxed included."

     "You'd really do that?"

"You seem to be on a schedule and don't have much more than five dollars, so I'll let you off the hook for now."
