Scout POV:
It's a late stormy night, some more flashes of lightning shine overhead, and thunder follows it, rumbling loudly after the flashes, and the light drizzle has already begun to turn into a downpour of rain, I fear we may not return to the empire tonight very easily. We were all sent out here in this late-night from the empire to scout out for that wanted boy Grayson that keeps slipping past many of the other empire's men, him, and his friends. I'm sure we will catch him eventually though, the empire with its strength in numbers and last of the mages, I think to myself as I walk through the dense woods with the two others in my small scouting party. We walk together in complete silence knowing they're still around this area from earlier on, from how loud they are I am surprised none of us have caught them already, though I know for a fact now one is a mage from their conversation, the one called Drake who says he can teleport which explains how they seem to disappear so easily even when we think we have them cornered. How is a mage that can teleport even possible with the magic fading around this world? It must have to be something to do with that story of that kid that mysteriously disappeared one day called collin, I think to myself again, letting my thoughts linger a bit as we all have been walking in silence for what seems like forever, slowly walking forward, making sure to keep our distance so we are not caught. I put up my coat hood to try to protect myself from the rain with little success, sometimes this job as a scout can be insanely boring, but at least it's better than a guard that simply sits around his post for hours without end. Though, from what we heard earlier on, they apparently know where something interesting is, a diamond hidden somewhere that they are going to go investigate, I'm sure we will receive some amazing payment today after all if we can all find it before them and manage to turn Grayson in as well. Even without catching Grayson, a real, decent sized diamond is plenty valuable and could buy most of the things in this world. The thought of it has made me a bit excited again and I quicken my pace slightly, there could be more than one, I could be rich if I get to it first I thought to myself. After a few more minutes of walking and we stopped in our tracks hearing their voices in the distance again, "Hey Drake! I think I found the entrance to a cavern!" It sounds like Grayson again and Drake would respond, "I see it, I'm getting inside before I get any more soaked out here from this rain." It's been raining at a constant stream now for at most a few minutes but Drake sounds like he wants to do anything else but sit around in it. We follow the voices, and I see the shadowy silhouette of movement near some rocks and bushes, they walk behind the bushes and seems to disappear, the cavern must be hidden there and we begin to quickly move in, all a bit eager to have at least someplace to escape this storm.
