Scout POV:
Havor:
I immediately bolt for the diamond, knowing they had seen me and this is maybe my only chance to snatch it and run, especially since Kalis has already been prepared to attack them from the beginning, at least since our conversation in the woods. I reach out and grab the diamond trying to move it, pull it, anything to get it to move but it won't budge. I hear the mage shout something out to me, a warning I think but it's too late, I already grabbed it and I know why he's shouting the warning now. The light blue parts of the diamond that are exposed from the stone begin to glow brightly and there's an inhuman shriek of rage, I see a dark image form in front of me with white eyes though no one else seems to notice, it's a demon! I think to myself and frantically try to run, but I can't move, some force has gripped hold of me, or my legs are too terrified to move. Dark magic more powerful than any I have seen, I let out a scream feeling the power in this diamond rise up, going up my arms and through my body, it burns, it feels likes it's trying to rip me apart from inside out, the demon creature, whatever it is, is taking my life and I finally succumb to the darkness. It happened so fast no one could come and save me, I suppose this is what the greedy come to at an unfortunate end.
Kalis:
I see Havor immediately bolt for the diamond, figures he would he's been distracted from the main mission ever since he heard the other two mention a peep about that diamond. Turns out it's a magic diamond though, when it lights up and he screams I hear another scream beside me, it's Gregory, and he bolts out of the room before I can stop him. I shout at Gregory, "Get back here and help me fight you, coward!" He's already gone when I call out to him and when the light clears I notice the pile of dust in front of the diamond. I guess Gregory was right, havor finally got stabbed in the back today due to his greed, serves him right that fool! I look over at the two we are supposed to turn in and see the mage by the wall not looking too good, this should be easy, I thought as I charged at Grayson and he dodged, then he quickly took out one of his own swords and I clashed swords with him. I dodge one of his strikes and hit him back, slowly getting him cornered to the back of a wall and preparing for the final blow, when unexpectedly something wacks the back of my head and slams into my back, I feel a pain in my head throbbing and lose my footing. I run into a nearby wall hard from the impact and fall on my back with the wind knocked out of me, I struggle to catch my breath, I already know Grayson is on top of me, taking my weapons, binding my hands, even wrapping some cloth in my mouth for a gag. The mage is next to him, I can make out blurry images, he must have gotten back up without me noticing, he must have hit me away from Grayson. I still feel the pain from the blow he hit me with, the throbbing in my head, and finally fall unconscious from it.
Gregory:

I was behind Kalis and Havor, closest to the entrance when I saw Havor reach the diamond, and then the light happened and when I heard him scream, I saw what happened to him, the disintegration and a shriek also slipped out of me. My voice probably raised an octave or two higher than normal and I immediately bolted out of the door in terror. I ran as fast as my legs could carry me, I didn't stop or look back even though I heard Kalis shout something at me from far behind. I kept running through all of the tunnels until I was outside, and still, I ran, I didn't care that it was still downpouring with rain, I wanted to get as far away from this cavern as possible, back to the empire even. I could feel my heart pounding in my chest as I ran, my feet splashing through the muddy puddles on the ground, and the flash of lightning followed by loud rumbling thunder overhead as I'm completely soaked in rain. I find some fallen debris in the forest, some tree roots and leaves, and a fallen tree nearby, creating a small alcove. I immediately take cover in it, squeezing into the small damp area under the fallen tree, and within the leaves on the slightly raised area, it's not dry, but it's not soaking wet either. I lay down on the damp grass and shiver, not bothering to take out my sleeping bag, still remembering the horrifying event that happened to havor, and I have a feeling Kalis is gone too. I just need to make it through the rest of this night or just wait out this storm and then I can make it to the empire and tell them everything that happened. We failed the main mission, I am alone now out in the wilderness on my own, but we may have unintentionally discovered something powerful Drake and Grayson knew about, I wonder what other secrets they are hiding and if it could benefit the empire further perhaps.
