"No, what do I do now?"
Killer heard a distressed voice. It was Dream. How long had he been out for? He rose to a sitting position and looked around. He had no idea where he was, it was just Dream and himself. Dream looked beat up; one crack on his skull and several tears in his clothing. Once Dream noticed Killer had woken, he gave him a smile.

"Are you alright?" Dream asked. "You were out cold. Does anything hurt?"
Killer shook his head. It was a lie, in fact, he had a major head ache.
"What happened?" Killer mumbled. All he could remember was the confrontation before he got shot by Dream. "Did it work?"
Dream nodded and took Killers right hand. Killer moved it away in defense.

Dream didn't try to grab it again. Killer looked down and realized his hand was no longer made of the goo Nightmare was covered in.
"I.. I see," Killer said. He couldn't hide the relief in his voice. "..Thank you."
"I'm just sorry I never thought of it sooner. I'm glad you're ok." Dream responded.
Killer didn't know what else to say, he was finally free.

Dream sat down next to Killer and placed his hand on his shattered skull. A warm yellow light glowed from his hand and started to seal what was of the crack. Killer looked at it in awe; he'd never seen Dream do it before, though it explained how he always recovered.  Dream noticed the staring and smiled softly. The two stayed quiet. There wasn't much to discuss anyways.

As Dream finished, he left out a yawn.
"We'll be safe here for a bit," Dream mumbled, before adding, "Ink knows about this place. He.. shouldn't show up."
Ink didn't trust Killer at all and after what happened with Nightmare, there was no way to convince him to either.

Dream was too kind and naive for his own good. He had tried to help Color turn Killer back long before any of this happened. His kindness is what started and ended the Star Sanses. Killer has no idea what happened to separate them, but Ink doesn't speak to Dream unless he has to now. Despite his urge to ask the past few months since it happened, it was never a good time.

The point of it all: Ink wouldn't hesitate to attack Killer or even Dream. Dream and Cross were the only people Killer had.
"What now?" Killer wanted to know the answer to that question, but he wasn't sure Dream would have the answer.
     Dream looked away.

"I have an idea, but I don't think you'd like it." Dream muttered nervously. Killer tilted his head in response. "Well, perhaps, Core could-"
"I'm not running away." Killer growled.
Dream stood up and sighed, "You shouldn't underestimate my brother. Revenge isn't the best solution, you know."

Dream turned back to Killer. Killer copied his sigh and looked down.
"You don't know what this is like, you can't feel hate like me," Killer responded. "And I'm not underestimating him. I never even got a good fight with Nightmare without him cowering behind someone else or his magic he used on me! Want to know what 'I'm' estimating? I'm estimating he's a coward!"

"Killer." Dream said more forwardly. "You've seen him serious."
Killer had, back when he was Nightmares puppet. He hated to admit Dreams point, but Nightmare wasn't even trying recently.
"You're right, and I'm going to see it again, mark my words." Killer swore.
Dream gave him a concerned eye.

     Killer looked down again.
"..Cross," Killer said after a moment. "He needs help, too. I can't run away knowing he's still an open target to your brothers tantrums."
Dream let a smile on his face.
"Ah," Dream said. "I understand now."

"I know where Nightmares base is, perhaps-" Killer started before Dream interrupted.
"No- it'd be best if we faced him in a more open terrain."
Killer nodded and turned back to him.
"There's.. another thing. You've probably sensed it already, the negative aura around him." Killer added.

"I know." Dream said calmly. Killer's expression shifted. "I've tried to hide it.. but those two together weaken me severely."
Killer had noticed, and he knew Nightmare had as well. That's why Killer always split from them. In fact, he had a feeling that was why Cross always wanted him to leave. He wasn't sure he should trust his gut feeling, though.

"Do you have the blaster?" Killer asked.
Dream blinked and then pulled the blaster out of his bag he'd been carrying, only then did he noticed the damage to the bag; Nightmare and Dream we're obviously fighting over it while he was unconscious.
"I don't know how much energy it has left.. but we should be able to help Cross!"

Killer took the blaster and spoke, "Teleport me somewhere open."
     "Alright, let's-"
"Just me." Killer stated. Dream looked at him in complete shock.
"Killer, I won't let you fight him alone!" Dream responded.
     "Don't underestimate me." Killer said.

Dream looked down. Killer hesitated before placing a hand on his shoulder. The positive aura he felt grew stronger on contact.
"Like you said, you're too weak to fight them both.. and I won't be helping with my emotions, either," Killer muttered. "There's a reason Nightmare wanted me on his side. I'm going to go finally use it against him like I've wanted to for a long time now."

"..Ok," Dream said. "But if it starts to turn for the worse, you can't stop me from joining."
Killer was relieved Dream cooperated. Hopefully if things do go bad, Killer will have already helped Cross. Dream raised his hand and a light gold portal opened in the air. Killer put the blaster in his pocket and pulled out his knife. With a deep breath, he went through without another word.

Killer looked around at the opening. It was quiet for the time being, but he stood up straight and kept his guard high.
"This is it you f—king blob, fight me head to head." Killer growled.
Not a moment later, Killer caught something in the corner of his eye. He dodged to the left as the figure swung at him with a splash of paint.

It was Ink. Killer let out an annoyed sighed.
"Look, we have a common enemy here, can't we just-" Killer was interrupted when Ink leaped for him again.
Ink was expressionless, he clearly hadn't drank his vials in a while. Killer could tell there was no talking to him.

"Cut it out!" Killer spat, raising a hand.
Bones shot from the ground all around Ink, forcing him into the air. Killer shot forward while he had the chance, slashing at Ink with his knife. Ink vanished before reappearing behind Killer. Killer ducked and swung Ink's feet from under him before shooting his knife through Ink's vacant hand.

"Please, just-" Killer was hit hard in the side before he could finish, rolling into the snow to the left of where he was.
Killer got up as soon as he caught himself. Nightmare pulled back his tentacle and smiled at Killer.
"Was my brother to scared to accompany you?" Nightmare asked.

"About time you showed your stupid face." Killer stated, turned to Ink, who had rose to his feet and put away his brush to get Killer's knife out of his palm. "Ink, can we just work together right now?"
Nightmare's smile widened as he turned to Ink.
"Looks like you haven't been drinking your vials, have you?"

Ink looked at the knife in his hand when Nightmare approached him. A chill went down Killers spine.
"I don't harm the AUs, you know.. but Killer always wanted to." Nightmare said.
"What the h-ll are you talking about?" Killer growled. "You're always spreading negativity all over them!"

Ink pulled out his paint brush as his eyes started to turn a slight grey. Nightmare turned to Killer.
"You're really clueless, aren't you?" Nightmare put his hand on Ink's shoulder.
Ink's eyes turns a darker gray before he handed Nightmare the knife.
"This is only a temporary alliance." Ink said, pulling out his paintbrush.

Nightmare's smile grew again. Killer stood there, stunned. Ink readied his paintbrush and Nightmare stowed Killer's knife in his pocket. Killer blinked for a bit before a sharp glare formed on his face.
"You have got to be f—king me." Killer snapped.
     Then the battle started.
