Ch. 16{The Last Name} Confinement

*With Rose*

I woke up in some kind of confinement room. The last thing I remember is leaving the college and then I was grabbed and blindfolded by someone. I was put in the car and I could hear that Misa was there with me too.

My clothes were changed to a white but short plain dress and my shoes were gone also. I laid on some sort of bed and I was chained to it. I didn't understand why I was here, but those cameras were watching my every move.

*With L and the investigation team*

"Ryuzaki, is this really necessary?" Mr. Yagami asked. "The second Kira can kill with a glance. Strict surveillance is absolutely vital." L said. "If both of them aren't Kira, we're criminals." Ms. Sanami said guilty. "We have evidence," Ukita mentioned, "It's clear Misa is hiding something, but Scarlett I don't know." "Why else would Misa keep quiet." Aizawa said.

"Have Misa's production company say to the press, she's hospitalized." L said. "That's already done." Ukita said. "Why the hell did you have Scarlett confined?" Matsuda asked. "If all of you haven't noticed, deaths of criminals increased when Scarlett came to Japan" L said which made Matsuda lose this round "By the way, Misa and Light have met before." L said "What?" Mr. Yagami asked confused. "She's visited your home." L said fixing up a bowl of ice cream. Mr. Yagami then looked back at Misa through the see through screen.

*With Light*

Light was sitting on a bench in the park. He had his head down. "We better contact Rem before Misa starts talking, or we're in big trouble." Light said. "A god of death can't leave the human who possesses the Death Note. Unless the human gives it up...or dies" Ryuk said. "I also have to rescue Rose, before she's convicted for nothing." Light said as Ryuk looked at him. Light turned his head thinking of what to do...

*With L and the investigation team*

~Misa and Scarlett in Confinement. Day 2~

L and the others were watching Misa and Scarlett. "She hasn't eaten for two whole days" Ms. Sanami said. "She must have some nerve. I'm starting to like her. I might buy her CDs." Matsuda said. "Moron" Aizawa said. They turned their attention to Scarlett. "Looks like Scarlett's holding up" Matsuda said softly. "At least she knows it's us and is eating." Ms. Sanami said. Rose was laying on the bed and was sleeping. "Can I use the restroom?" Misa finally spoke. Sanami got to to assist Misa. "Kira's executions haven't stopped." Ukita trailed off.

~Misa and Scarlett in Confinement. Day 5~

*With Rose*

I was asleep as usual. There wasn't anything to do but sit here and do nothing. I mostly slept while being here. I could hear Misa and L speaking to each other from the other room and Misa sounded like she was breaking down fast. I then heard her yell something and that woke me back up. How long did they intend on keeping us like this? I don't know how much I can take this. I closed my eyes again to go to sleep to make this torture over soon.

*With Light*

Light was at home writing names in the Death Note. Rem appeared before him and Light was surprised to see him. "Rem.." Light said. "I've made Misa give up the Death Note," Rem said making Light surprised, "She begged me to kill her because she didn't want to trouble you. Don't you see, Light Yagami? She's doing this all for you." "Misa's now lost all of her memory of the Death Note." Light said. "Along with the fact that she's killed people and that you're Kira. When I explained to Misa that all she'd remember her admiration for you... she said she couldn't ask for anything more."

"You must save Misa, or else I will have to kill you and your precious Rose." Light just looked at Rem. Rem explained that he made a promise to another shinigami named Jealous. Jealous loved Misa and turned into sand after rescuing Misa from being killed. That was when she got possession of the her Death Note. "A god of death dies falling in love with a human," Light said then chuckled a bit, "sounds romantic." Rem glared "I will kill you and your girlfriend if you don't save Misa." "You're boring me with that line, Rem. If Rose dies.... then I would die too. I know she's the one I want to spend my life with. And if I die, Misa would be depressed that her savior died and may commit suicide." Light looked at Rem and Rem looked shocked at Light's statement.

Light sighed. "It'll take time... but I'm sure I know a way..." He opened up his drawer and Misa's Death Note was inside. Light began his new plan.

*With Rose*

~Misa and Scarlett in Confinement. Day 6~

Oh God. I woke up to Misa's annoying loud voice from the other room. She's become very talkative lately. Soon afterword, Misa and the investigation team were talking to each other. Why didn't they just let me sleep?

*With L and the investigation team*

L and the others found it strange that Misa was now different than before. But Scarlett was the same. L got a call from Light and L let him in. "Light?" Mr. Yagami asked surprised. "I've already talked to Ryuzaki. I might be Kira." Light said. This caused everyone's attention. "What are you saying?" Mr. Yagami asked. "I believe that criminals deserve to die. It's possible I'm Kira." Light said.

"It could be anyone. Are you protecting Amane or Scarlett?" Mr. Yagami asked. Light shook his head no. "I don't know Misa very well. And Scarlett and I are just partners for this case. But Misa and Scarlett can't be the second Kira. As for myself, I'm not aware of being Kira but.... if I have a subconscious personality, I want you to find out." "We didn't find anything." Mr. Yagami said. "But last time, we didn't monitor Light outside of his room." Aizawa said. "Then we'll keep him in confinement. Let's observe him 24 hours a day." L said.

"That's fine with me. But what happens if there's another execution by Kira while I'm in confinement?" Light asked. "We'll make sure you're freed." Ukita said. "Thank you." Light said. He emptied out his pockets and placed his wallet, watch, and a little notebook and pen on the table. "Light. Are you sure?" Mr Yagami asked. Light nodded.

Light's clothes were replaced with a black jumpsuit. The cameras in Light's confinement room were set up and Light sat on the bed inside the room. The doors then closed and locked behind Light...
