Jane
After that blow out Colson and I had at Dr.Hartmen's office she said that once a week was not gonna cut it anymore. We would have to see her two times a week now. I really wish we didn't. Everything just seemed so fresh. Today Colson and I decided to take separate cars. When I got to the office Colson was already waiting in the lobby. Just as I walked in we were called back."Ok so the other day we left off on Jane. Jane you said that Aubrey was only a friend. You two had never had a relationship past that, correct?"
"Correct, Aubrey, he's more like a brother to me than anything. The whole time Colson and I were separated he encouraged me to work things out. He never once tried to make a move on me. He was only trying to be a good friend. That's it."
"Colson do you believe her?"
"Yeah, she's never given me a reason to not believe her."
"Jane can we talk about what happened the day Aubrey showed up at your place while Colson was there? I feel like something important happened that needs to be discussed."
For a minute I didn't know if I wanted to talk about it or not but I felt that Colson needed to hear it. " Well, that night I had just been released from the hospital. I passed out when Aubrey and I were meeting for lunch earlier that day and ended up in the ER. I had a miscarriage due to my auto-immune disease. The doctor told me I was 6 months pregnant at the time but due to my disease and no knowledge of the pregnancy I miscarried." I responded.
"I'm sorry to hear that. What happened next."
"I went home and was put on bed rest. Aubrey begged me to call Colson and when I refused he begged me to at least let him stay. I told him I would be fine so he left. A few hours later Casie, OUR daughter, showed up without an adult crying. She said she didn't wanna live with her dad anymore."
"So she ran away from Colson's home to come to yours?" She questioned.
"Yes, and then an hour later Best Parent of the Year over here shows up. He gets upset when I tell him Casie would be staying with me and he..."I paused.
"Go ahead Jane what did he do?"
"He threw in my face the fact that Casie wasn't my biological daughter." I said as tears rolled from my eyes.
Dr.Hartmen handed me a box of Kleenex. Colson placed his hand on my thigh and I pushed it away.
"And that really hurt you because of the miscarriage?" She asked
"That and the fact that he knew that there was a strong possibility that I could never have children!" I half yelled glaring at him. "Before I could say anything else Aubrey showed up. I went to the door and he didn't even know Colson was there. He had came back to check on me and then he begged me again to talk to Colson. That is before he realized he was there. After that Aubrey left. Colson then flips out on me about Aubrey and threw some of my things. He ended up finding pills that fell from my purse and questioned me about them. I eventually told him what happened but because of the way he acted I threatened to call the police if he didn't leave so he did."
"Hears a random question. What do you two think things would've been like had you not gotten married?"
"Ha, I wouldn't be here right now that's for sure. Something deep down told me we should've gotten our marriage annulled! I just thought I could change him." I replied.
"Jane you don't mean that!" He yelled
By this time not only did I have tears running down my face but so did Colson. For some reason I got angry. He shouldn't even be crying right now. Half of this is his fault. If he had never cheated I would've never left and we might have had a baby.
I let my anger get the best of me. Since he got to ask me a question I was gonna ask him one."And after all that you fucking left. You didn't call or text! Not once in 2 months did you ever call to check on your own damn daughter! I even called everyone looking for you and no one knew where you were. So where the fuck were you Colson!?"
