Yes! The lioness had stopped in preparation to pounce and it gave Mukhtaar enough time to reach his knife.
He prepared to jump at her and leaped with a strength he didn't know he had.
Then, a moment too late, he saw the fear in the lioness' eyes.
He tried to stop his jump, but it was too late. He fell with a crashing force as the knife was thrust into the lioness's side.
He was a man.I am starting to tear up as I reread this.
