We turned a corner, coming to a group of people. There were two young boys there, one blond, the other brunet. They both looked around fifteen or sixteen. The blond kid had bright blue eyes that instantly fell upon me. The other boy then turned around and looked at me curiously. There was also another guy, who had orange hair with fox ears poking out. His nose was black at the tip, like a dog. He had a few freckles that spread across his cheeks. And then Eret came around a corner; he waved at me with a small smile.

"You know Eret?" Wilbur asked, turning to look at me.

"Oh, uh yeah," I smiled to him, "we met a few days ago whilst mining."

Eret nodded, going along with my made up story. Tommy looked at me with a weird sort of smile; I hadn't exactly sided with him during the disc wars. Well, I didn't fight against him, but I was staying with Dream and knew about all his plans but didn't try to stop him. Tommy had saved me, so I did feel bad about it, but we hadn't gotten to know each other very much. I guessed now would be a good time to straighten things out with him.

"Oh, well I guess for tonight you and Eret could room together if you like," Wilbur said happily, clapping his hands together with a smile. Eret smiled at me, placing down some logs for the fire that they had going.

The rain had stopped mostly, so the fire was going fine. There were a few large rocks for people to sit on, as well as a couple of logs. These idiots didn't even carve out a bottom for the logs so they wouldn't roll away. And I have to live with them for, what? A few months?

Wilbur had led me over to the group, where I sat away from the others. Tommy and I looked at each other every now and then awkwardly from across the fire. Wilbur must have noticed this, as he got out an old looking guitar from the van. The fox man gathered some pork chops and handed them out to each of us. He was hesitant when coming closer to me, but quickly handed me my food, skipping away to sit next to Wilbur.

"Any requests?" Wilbur asked, looking around at everyone.

"Play one of your songs, Will!" Tommy said excitedly with his mouth full of food. I smiled and rolled my eyes at him; he was such a child. Wilbur saw this and smiled, then looked down at his guitar, placing his fingers on select strings and starting to pluck them.

"The cute bomber jacket you've had since sixth form,
adorned with patches from places you've been,
is nothing on my khaki coat from a roadside,
when I was sixteen,"

Wilbur sang in a low tone, plucking the strings of his old guitar gently. I listened intently as I ate, admiring his voice. He was very good, I wasn't gonna lie, but I knew I couldn't get attached.

"My boots are from airports,
my backpacks from friends,
I'm not a man of substance and so I'll pretend
to be a wanderer, wandering,
leaving ascetic belongings in hostels and restaurant bins."

His voice was sweet and low. I couldn't help but stare as he plucked the strings intently.

"The roads are my home, horizon's my target
if I keep on moving, never lose sight of it
treating my memory of you like a fire, let it
burn out, don't fight it, and try to move on
it's been sixty weeks since I saw Vienna,"

I found myself lost in the moment; I had forgotten about my mission, everything I carried on my shoulders for years was gone, I felt at peace.

"A bandage and a wide smile slapped across my face
I'll pick up my hiking boots when I am ready
and I'll put down my roots when I'm dead."

I breathed deeply. This must have been the first time I truly relaxed in months.

"The distance is futile
come on, don't be hasty
you'll get that feeling deep inside your bones
I'll be gone then, for when you must be alone."

Tommy cheered loudly as Wilbur ended, standing up and clapping his hands in appreciation. Wilbur just puffed out a small laugh, placing the guitar down behind him on the grass. He looked up and met my gaze, a small smile playing on his lips. I looked away quickly, focusing my eyes on the rising stars that freckled the orange sky.

As everyone finished eating, Tommy got up and pulled Tubbo with him, taking out a wooden sword. "C'mon, let's train," he said excitedly. Tubbo reluctantly picked up a wooden sword and stood opposite Tommy.

The two boys stood, ready to fight. Their stances were a little off, wouldn't want to be pushed, they wouldn't balance. Their feet were too close together. Tubbo also didn't have his knees bent, which wasn't gonna end well. Tommy held his sword a bit like a bat. I face palmed at their stupidity.

I had only been trained for fencing for two years, but they really needed help. No. I was on a mission, and I couldn't help the opposing side learn how to fight properly.

"What?" Tommy shouted at me, seeing my disappointment. "You try it then, go on!"

Rolling my eyes a little at the young boy, I stood up, walking over to stand in front of Tommy. Tubbo immediately gave me his chipped wooden sword, hopping off to the sidelines to watch safely. I just looked over to Tommy, who nodded.

I lunged forward, my flimsy sword being blocked by Tommy's as he parried. But he wasn't expecting me to step back and allow him to attempt an attack; an offer which he took up immediately. Idiot.

He lunged towards me in an upper body attack, attempting to get my chest. I defended by parrying, then stepping forward to close the gap between us, pushing his sword to his shoulder. Tommy was quick to react, disengaging his sword from the bond to flip it upside down and defend. He wasn't even using a thumb grip; he couldn't even hold a sword properly.

Tommy tried to step back, giving me an advantage as I stepped forward and brought my sword down on his shoulder. Tommy didn't take this as defeat, instead jumping backwards and getting ready to counter strike. However, when I didn't attack, Tommy took the chance to try again. But once again I parried, blocking his sword. That's when he started raising his sword to the side; this was his attempt at the beginning of the zwerchhau. I realised what he was doing and pushed forward, stopping his blade as it was coming down. His face was filled with disbelief.

Seeing him caught off guard, I slid one hand over his shoulder and grabbed his neck, throwing him down to the ground. As I rested my knee on Tommy's chest, he threw away the wooden sword, surrendering.

"That's what I thought," I smirked, getting up and pushing Tommy's chest to the ground harshly. I turned around to see Tubbo standing there with his mouth forming an 'O'. I chuckled at his expression and walked to his side, handing him the splintering sword and bumping into his shoulder. Needless to say, I quite enjoyed scaring children.

I may or may not have watched videos for two hours on fencing to get down some basics and terms-
