tw: panic attacks

it's been two weeks since y/n and bakugou had spoken, and although they both missed each other, y/n simply didnt have the time to text him and bakugou didnt want to push her into taking when she wasnt ready for it.

but y/n was ready for it. if anything, she was only waiting for the right time. recently, all her free time was consumed by homework, fixing sero's hero costume, and hanging out with friends. and when she wasnt doing any of that, she was so exhausted that all she could do was lie in bed.

even her free periods were busy for her since she'd started using them to create a new gadget for one of her classes. it was so difficult and nothing was working the way it should and it was really starting to piss her off.

and thats what she was currently doing. sitting in the workshop, tinkering with this stupid gadget that was supposed to be inspired by a pro hero.

the assignment, which was to create long range weapons inspired by pro heroes, was insane, and izuku was struggling with his, too.

izuku had chosen to base his gadget on all might, which was no surprise to anyone, and y/n had based her's on hawks.

it was a gun of sorts which would supposedly shoot out sharp titanium feathers that would inject a poison into whoever was hit. each cartridge of feathers would have a differnt poison and could be changed out at any point for one more suitable for the opponent.

if only she could actually figure out how to store the feathers in the gun. storing them like bullets would mean the barrel for "bullets" would have to be a lot bigger resulting in a heavier weapon.

she just couldnt figure it out and it was due to be handed in next week.

she just needed a break, she decided. maybe coming back to it with a fresh brain would give her some more ideas.

y/n got up and packed the gadget and designs into her locker before heading for the door. food would definitely (probably) help.

she headed for the cafeteria but paused when she walked past a dark classroom. through the window in the door she thought she saw...flashes of light? then she heard a grunt and an explosion.

the rapid explosion gave enough light for her to make out the blond hair that so clearly belonged to bakugou.

what was he doing? she wondered.

another explosion followed by a few more made her decide to knock on the door, and as she raised her hand and knocked, the room went dark again.

there was no response so she opened the door and walked in.

"bakugou, what the hell are you doing in the dark?" y/n asked, flipping the light switch on.

as light flooded the room, she saw bakugou crouched by the far wall, slightly shaking.

"bakugou?" she repeated and he only grunted. she closed the door and walked forward, crouching in front of him and tilting her head at his lowered one. up close, she noticed he was breathing heavily as well, and none of this sat right with her. "what's wrong?"
