The Beginning (a Joey Jordison fanfic)

I wake up to the slight shaking of the bus as we drive to our first concert location.  Our new self-titled album has just come out and we're going on a big world domination tour. I crawl out of my bottom bunk and notice two things right away. It's 2 in the morning, and there's a quiet tapping coming from the living area. I tiredly crawled towards the tapping noise until I got to the couch. I look up and see Joey sitting on the couch looking down at me as he continues to tap his sticks on the table.

"Did I wake you?" he asks. I shake my head as I stand up and take a seat next to him. His hair is tied back into a low ponytail and he's in a big t-shirt and sweatpants 'What a cutie' I thought. He stops tapping his sticks and sets them on the small ledge of the window.

"What are you doing up this early?" He asked. I just shrug and lay down on the couch stretching my legs across his.

"I should be asking you the same" I say as I rub my eyes tiredly. 

"I guess I'm just nervous. This is gonna be huge" he says. I nodded and moved my legs, I patted the spot next to me signaling for him to lay down. He does so and I rest my head onto his chest.

"I'm going back to sleep" I say with a yawn.  He pats my head in response and starts to play with my hair until I feel myself falling asleep.

(Morning)

I wake up on the couch and feel that I'm still laying on a now sleeping Joey. I move my leg slightly and feel my foot touch something soft. Being curious to who or what I had touched, I sat up and saw Sid sitting there looking back at me with a smirk. I ignored him and looked over to the clock to see that it's now 9.

"How long were you sitting there being creepy" I ask him

"Long enough" he replies with an even bigger smirk. I shake my head and smack his arm causing him to flinch. I look around again and notice no one else is awake. I stand up from my spot which wakes Joey up. He looks at me with a small pout then looks over to Sid and rolls his eyes. Sid just laughs and continues to watch us.

"Stop being creepy Sid" Joey says while gathering his stuff for the concert. Sid notices what he's doing and starts doing the same thing.

"I have to admit I envy your friendship," Sid says while grabbing his stuff.

"What can I say, Short people make great pares" I say as I finish putting my shoes on.

"Yeah and they also make great arm rests" Corey says as he walks from the bunk area and over to me just so he can put his arm on my head. I smacked it away and scrunched my face up at him.

"Yeah I love you too sis" he says with a chuckle. But just when I thought I would be safe Jim comes walking out from the bunks and does the same thing.

"Mr. Root, I recommend you remove your arm from off of my head before I hurt you" I say while looking up to him. He just laughs and heads back to the bunks to get his stuff.

"Where's the face paint?" Shawn asks

"Should be next to the sink" I replied.  At this point we are parked at the venue and everyone else is awake and ready to go. I grab my mask and jumpsuit and follow behind Chris. Joey, Craig, and Paul all walked by me. As a joke I linked arms with Craig, Who then linked with Paul, Who then linked with Joey. 'What a bunch of fucking goofs' I thought. As we all walked arm in arm to the back doors we got weird looks from the others.

"What are you guys doing?" Corey asked with a sigh. I laughed and unhooked my arm from Craig

"It's concert time!" I yell as I run into the building punching the air, the other three do the same as they cheer. Corey and the rest of the guys just watched with looks that said 'What the hell'
