Sometimes I wonder if love really exists. Whether it exists at all or if it just doesn't exist for me. I wonder if I will ever feel the butterflies in my stomach when the person who I love smiles or laughs. Or if I will ever stay out late with them and fall asleep under the stars. I personally don't believe in happy endings. But maybe it's for good reason. It means that I don't have hopes for the Disney princess happily ever after that will never come. Because, unfortunately, as much as we like to believe it, life isn't fair and it doesn't give good karma for the badness in our lives.
Waking up is always the most difficult part of the day. When you're mind tells you that you need to get up because you have responsibilities but your body is physically too tired to move.
That was what I was experiencing when I woke up on December 18th 2012. I opened my eyes. I remembered that I wasn't at the Military Camp anymore and was at my bedroom at home.
Well, I say home, this house doesn't feel like home anymore. Yes, Lilly, Noah and My Mom live here, along with my mom's boyfriend, Gordon. But my family is divided. My Dad, if you can even call him that cause he does a shit job at it, abandoned, Lilly, Noah and My Mom when I was at the Military Camp, also because of my dad. It's gotten to the point where only Lilly calls him Dad, Noah and I call him Jackson (his first name). Noah is close to Gordon though so at least he has a father figure.
Anyway, Jackson is taking Lilly, Noah and I camping. Much to my displeasure.
I eventually willed myself to get out of bed. I winced as my feet met with the cold, hardwood flooring. I really need to get a rug for my room. I went over to my dresser and changed into some clothes that were suitable for camping.

I got dressed and then someone knocked on my door. "Who is it?" I asked. "Mom" my mom replied. "Come in" I granted as I was packing my bag for camping. She opened the door but only stood in the doorway. "Listen, I know you don't want to go but I think you should spend time with your dad" she reasoned. "I don't want to be in the same country as him never mind the same room." I snapped. "I know honey but can you at least attempt to be nice to him, if not for your sake then for Lilly and Noah's?" She begged. I let out a sigh "fine I'll try but only for Lilly and Noah" I remarked. "Thank you, honey" my mom uttered gratefully. I nodded and with that being said, she walked out. I looked at my alarm clock and saw that Jackson was due here any minute. I put my phone in my bag along with a bottle of water. I then made my way downstairs to see my mom getting Lilly ready and Noah standing looking up the stairs at me.
"Hey Buddy" I smiled as I reached him. "Hey Scar" he replied glumly. "Why so glum?" I inquired in an attempt to be positive for his and Lilly's sake. "Don't pretend you like, Jackson. You only have to pretend around Lilly" Noah assured. "Still, I may not like him but he's your dad" I interjected. "He's yours too" Noah pointed out. "Okay, smart-ass" I teased. He laughed and I laughed along with him. We then heard a car horn sound outside. My demeanour immediately darkened and Noah's smile dropped.
