Shade and Cameron

My alarm goes off at 5:00 as I groan since I have school and I just did a patrol but I hate waking up early I roll out of bed and land face first in the floor and groan "I really need to get up instead of rolling out of bed." as I start my morning routine I look at the ground to see my scythe on the floor I grab it and hide it behind the radiator in my room since no one looks their and get ready for school I left my map in my folder since I can't just leave it in my room. If I do my parents would ask what do all the x's and numbers mean in the areas I've been to.

As my morning routine starts I just put a toaster strudel in the toaster and then when it's done I just put it on my mouth as I run to my bustop and make it just in time when the bus appears. Many of the kids start staring at me when I eat on the bus which is not normal but for me I'm like "Hey you don't know what kind of life I live". The bus appears at the school and I get off the second I walk in Cameron appears and hugs me and says "Did you do any vigilante work last night!" She gives me a serious look with a little hint of anger I gulp and say "All i did was a little patrol no vigilante work at all." She gives me a look then takes our her phone and goes to the news app and searches up shadow man to see if I was lying.

I sigh and think "Oh yeah I forgot I lied to her about doing vigilante work until she started looking at the news."

(Flashback last year)
I walk into school with both my arms sore since last night I took down a group and it didn't end good and Cameron walks up and says "So any vigilante work you did?" I smile and say "Nope just walked around the place no work at all." She smiles gives me a hug and we talk about school and other things until the bell rings and we head to our 1st period class. The day was normal with keeps gossiping and talking about normal rap I just look at my bruises and sigh "Man how have I not been defeated yet, I'm just gonna call it luck for now." As 4th period is about to end I get my stuff and make my way to a staircase to wait for Cameron as I see her she gives me a look and I feel weird and I say "Um Cameron anything wrong?" She looks at me and says "You said YOU didn't do any vigilante work." I give a look and say "I didn't." She pulls out her phone and says "Then explain THIS!" It all the vigilante work I did in the last 2 weeks. "You have got to be kidding me I hate society now." She looks at me and then I say "Look Cameron I just did a little work just stopping criminals that's all." She looks away and says "You said you wouldn't do any vigilante work for a month." I look and say "This time I promise I won't do any vigilante work for a month promise." She looks and says "promise?" I give one last work and say "promise"

(Flashback end)

She looks and says "Huh looks like you didn't do any vigilante work yesterday." She smiles then looks at me as I start walking away "Shadow what's wrong?" As I look at her and say "It's nothing Cameron it's nothing." As she walks with me she keeps asking me if I'm okay I keep responding with the same answer or try changing the subject as the bell rings there is one question in my head that still sticks with me "How does she put up with me doing this vigilante work."
