A couple weeks have past since the power outage and everything is relatively back to normal. Nothing crazy has happened recently, which is honestly quite relieving. However I didn't make enough money for all my bills. Looks like no heating again for me.

I finish curling my hair and applying makeup just in time to leave for work. Tonight is another long shift with Midge.

Slipping into a cute skirt and shirt combo, I decide I'm work ready. I shove my feet in some black flip flops and grab my phone and wallet. Elmo gives a soft meow as I walk past him toward the door. "I know, I know. I'll miss you too."

I give him a quick pet and leave my apartment closing the door behind me. I'm honestly surprised the door is still on its hinges.

The apartments here are disgusting and matinance never comes to fix anything, so it's not really a surprise that I have zero next door neighbors. Other then me there are a total of twenty-one tenants here and most of them are located on the seventh floor where the best view here is.

It's honestly a miracle the building hasn't been shut down all together. Especially with the number of pests and unidentifiable substances spread throughout the building. And although the elevator does technically work...I don't trust it at all, so I'm always taking the stairs. Luckily I'm only on the third floor so the stairs aren't too bad.

I make my way down the stairs and outside into the cold air. These nights always seem to be cold. Pulling my jacket tighter around my body, I begin the long walk to Westend.

I do my usual scan throughs of the people as I walk, but my glasses don't pick up on anyone suspect. Good. I don't need more issues right now.

All the walking and movement hurts my ribs. My whole torso is black with bruising, but I don't really have any choice but to push through it. I have to work and make money, especially after the almost two weeks off. Maybe cutting off all the power really was the stupidest thing I could have done, but I have word from Riogeo that it worked. He's officially hacked into the power bank and can now control the lights all across town and the outskirts of town as he pleases.

Close behind me, I can hear hurried footsteps like someone following me or trying to pass me on the street, but when I glance behind me I see no one. What the...

Speeding up my pace to a fast walk, my heart skips a beat. This can't be good. I take the time to glance behind me a couple more times, but still there is no one...nada...nothing.

"It's official. I'm going crazy." I mutter to myself. Nonetheless I don't slow down, I keep up the fast pace all the way to the Westend Bar.

I duck inside the back alley and quickly open the backdoor. If I am remembering correctly Brock is out of town today, so it should just be me and Midge working today.

I set my stuff down and take off my jacket, getting ready for my shift. Once I'm ready I clock in for the night and join Midge in the front of the bar.

Not surprisingly, it's pretty empty tonight. Two men sit in the back quietly smoking and chatting, but other then that this place is a ghost town. I guess after what happened with the power no one really wants to go out. Can't blame them.

"Finally you're here." Midge jokes. Today her hair is tied back in a high ponytail and her makeup is simple. She looks like the typical girl next door type although maybe mixed a little with a hoe in her baby blue mini dress and stripper level heels. For once in Midges midget life she's actually taller than me. What a shame.

I chuckle. "Hey, I'm not even late tonight." I point out, grabbing my apron. She laughs too, leaning against the bar.

"That's a first." She sticks her tongue out at me and I stick mine out right back at her. "Oh my gosh! I almost forgot!" I swear her eyes just did an anime sparkle. The excitement is written all over her face now. This can't be good. "Let me see your phone!" She reaches her hand out happily.

I groan, but reach into my pocket and fish it out for her nonetheless. Happily, she takes it from me, going right for the stupid tinder app.

Last time we hung out she made me a profile using what she deemed my "best photos" and "best qualities" and I haven't opened it since.

Midge doesn't wait at all, she clicks on the app and immediately starts swiping right on every profile she sees. She seems to get delight out of all the little 'it's a match!' Bubbles that keep popping up.

Rolling my eyes, I look up to the door. In walks a thin woman ready for the club. "Hey," I greet her with a smile. "What can I get for ya?"

The woman returns my smile and takes a seat at the bar. "Ah, nothing yet hon. I'm waiting for my date."

"Oh, of course. No problem." I smile at her. I will never understand why you would take a date to a place like this, but surprisingly it's not to uncommon.

Glancing back over at Midge, I find her staring at the screen jaw dropped. She notices me staring and holds the phone up. "Look!" She yells excitedly.

The woman glances up from her phone, but seems disinterested and quickly looks away. "What?" I grumble trying not to be loud.

She shoves the phone closer to my face. "Look who's on tinder!" She's so excited she starts shaking. "I can't believe I've never seen his profile on my account before." She pouts.

Squinting, I get a better look at the screen. Much to my surprise it's a picture of Hawks smiling at the camera holding up a peace sign. Oh no.

Before I can swipe left, Midge has pulled the phone back to her. I don't even have a chance to stop her as I watch her finger swipe right across the screen.

"No. No. No. No-" She cuts me off mid-panic eyes sparkling.

"No way! He's totally into you! It's a match!"

oh no.
