Evelynn officially had forgotten about her and Alice's conversation. Well, at least she made it seem that way. Evelynn wasn't at all opposed to the idea of wedding talk anymore, which it had only been two days. In those two days Evelynn made a point of not talking about a wedding whatsoever. Evelynn was good at forgetting things, except for when she cared about them. Which meant Jasper was all to happy to know that Evelynn had to go out of her way to forget Alice's future-seeing-can't-keep-a-thing-to-herself words.

Jasper had taken an extra week just figuring out what he wanted to say to Evelynn. He knew he wanted to marry her, and he wanted her to know that. He just didn't know when they would get married, but the fact that she hadn't changed one bit since she was bitten by Laurent gave the two hope that they'd have awhile before they had to even worry about. Everyone was worried that Evelynn would change in a couple years, and Jasper and her wouldn't have the ending to their story that they wanted.

Jasper's phone rang, Eve showed up in big bold letters with the option to end the call or answer. Jasper, of course, answered the phone. "Hey, everything okay?" Jasper asked, feeling like the conversation was more private since he was in his room and his vampire family could only hear his side of the phone.

"Yeah, yeah, everything's fine." Evelynn said, sounding happy. Jasper smiled, happy that she sounded so happy. "I'm just bored. You should come over."

"Eve, you know I planned on coming over tomorrow, right?" Jasper chuckled.

"Well, there's not much to do anymore. I sleep at most twice a week and I'm not used to not sleeping!" She babbled, making Jasper smile again. "Okay, listen, I know you don't sleep, and I do, but I have it worse. My entire family isn't vampires and I can't just be like, 'hey Charlie mind buying me more stuff so that I can be occupied while I stay up all night and you don't know?'"

"Yeah say it just like that." Jasper and Evelynn shared a short laugh. "I know you're not used to it, but you will be. And, I'm not coming over. I'll see you tomorrow."

"Come on, Edward is here every night." Evelynn whined. Jasper could picture this moment. Evelynn sitting on the floor with whatever hobby she managed to master in a month sitting on the phone with him, bored out of her mind.

"Are you really comparing me to Bella and Edward again?" Jasper asked, teasingly. It was sort of Evelynn and Jasper's thing to bully the couple relentlessly for being so utterly cheesy.

"Yes. I'm bored." Evelynn giggled as she spoke, knowing Edward could hear her end of the conversation.

"You sound more desperate than bored." Jasper observed. He settled comfortably on his little couch.

"No, bored. Though they do fall into the same wavelength." Evelynn corrected. "I'm pretty sure Edward will kill me if I listen to my music one more time."

"Yeah, your music taste sucks." Jasper teased.

"Says you, cowboy." Evelynn mocked Jasper's southern accent horribly.

"I do not sound like that." Jasper and Evelynn laughed at the mockery of the accent Jasper had. Jasper tried to hide it the best he could when they were in school, but when he was around his family it didn't really matter.

And hour later Evelynn hung up due to the fact that Charlie would be up in the next half hour, so she had to quickly clean up her stuff then pretend to sleep.

Jasper was going to ask Evelynn to marry him today, when they hang out. Jasper was hoping she'd say yes, and they could start planning their life together.

Alright, so now we're onto the sorta juicy stuff lmfao, but I sort of wanted it to be a cliff hanger.
I hope y'all are enjoying this little bit before the story actually begins. I wanted this story to be a bit more focused on Jasper and Evelynn, so I have this little bit so that i get better about writing what I'm thinking😭
Anyways, hope y'all enjoyed this short chapter and if the next chapters out I hope you enjoy that one as well!

Love y'all, Layla
