renjun woke up that morning with a black eye. his pillow stained with what he hoped was just tears, and body groaning with every shift of position. yet somehow , he slowly managed to get out of bed, and get dressed into a pair of what he assumed were zitao's shorts and light pink tee shirt.

the last thing he remembered from that night was zitao helping him clean up, while minghao slept soundly a room over, the lucky youngest sibling. while zitao hates taking care of his younger brothers, he would never let them be alone when they needed him, because he had to be alone, and he would never wish that upon his worst enemy.

"morning, sleeping beauty." zitao joked lightly as renjun stumbled into the closest bathroom.

"thank you for taking care of me." renjun mumbled, sleepily wrapping his arms around his brothers torso, practically falling asleep in the warmth he provided.

zitao stiffined, before relaxing into the hug and ruffling the shorters hair, "hey, this is what older brothers are for. i may not act like it, but i will always take care of you, junjun." he smiled, not waiting for the younger to respond before continuing, "now come on, haohao has a test today. we have to harass him."

when the oldest two of the siblings made it to minghao, or justin's room, they were all but expecting to see the boy sitting on his bed, fully dressed and hair styled.

"what happened to you?" the younger scoffed, looking up at his brothers annoyed.

"don't worry about it, kid." renjun smiled, leaning over and ruffling the smallers hair.

"yah! i wasn't even talking to you, i was talking about zitao's hair! now look at what you've done!" justin whined, stomping his feet like a child. (which he basically was at 14 years of age.)

renjun hoped that his classmates would be the same as justin when it came to obliviousness.

he was laughably wrong, in his assumption of how stupid his fellow student body was.

he could hear it all when he got out of zitao's car. the whispers, the scoffs, the "poor thing"s and "deserved"s. he heard it all. he just wanted the school to give him his classes and let him leave. why couldn't things have just gone his way? he just wanted to blend in.

it seemed as if the universe had a different plan for him.

"renjun? are you okay?" jeno- one out of two of his best friends- asked, rushing up to the smaller.

"i'm fine, jen. i promise." renjun chuckled, wrapping his arm over jeno and his other friend, jaemin,'s shoulders.

"okay...if you're sure." they sighed. walking their best friend to the assembly room, where they would be called up to get their classes. and god, he did all he possibly could to hope that it would go by quickly.

as the trio walked, renjun could tell the stares weren't because of jeno's buff arms, or jaemin's cute smile, they were because of him. because of what his father had given to him.

so when renjun got his class schedule, he sighed louder than anyone had ever heard the male sigh.

because the moon was tired, and so were all the stars.

but we all know that when the moon is tired, the sun wakes up, right?
