CHAPTER 7: SWORDS & FLAME RIVALRY

Hiro trembled when he heard Kuro's statement. He immediately moved back quite far and use his illusion magic to disguise himself just as what Kuro asked him. Yumika and Muse followed Hiro and asked why he trembled so much. He answered them that they should kept their distance if they were going to watch Kuro and the girl fought each other. Kuro talked a bit to the instructor to keep the other spectator safe. He then put his own disguise and challenged the girl. He asked her name and said that he wanted to test her full power.

She introduced herself while not knowing that the one in front of her is Kuro her own brother. Kuro smiled as he knew that Izanami Shirona , his sister was well. He then introduced himself as an instructor and told her that she could make her first move.

"Are you sure about that?" Shirona replied.

Kuro told her that as an instructor he should gave the recruit a chance to prove their strength. Shirona accept the chance he gave to her and she though about her first move.

"That's it i am going to go with this." Shirona unsheated her weapon followed by Kuro not long after that.

Kuro saw her sword and he grinned as he saw that it was the weapon that his father used to spar with both of them when they were young, Amaterasu. Shirona coated her sword in flame and ran straight toward him. Kuro hold his sword in front of him and tried to block it. Shirona quickly stopped her stab right in front of him and summoned 5 fire pillars from his leg. Kuro quickly avoided it but the pillar moved to attack his head. Kuro proned to dodge it and the fire pillar dealt huge damage to the wall behind him. The fire pillar blocked his view but he quickly gained his stance and rushed to his sister. When he saw her, she had activated amaterasu first ability which was the power to control fire around her. Kuro retreated quickly and dodged skillfully from her attacks. He dodged the endless wave of attacks by a hair's breadth.

Yumika asked Hiro about Kuro's chance of winning against the girl. Hiro replied that so far Kuro had won 10 out of 10 fights against magic user in the training facility. He added that the girl advantage in magic power is what made her had a better chance to win, but Kuro was training harder also. Hiro predicted that the fight will not be able to be predicted easily.

As Hiro explained more things about their training, loud sound from spar ground could be heard. Kuro was blown away by Shirona's magic. His leg was burnt but he did what normal people not gonna do. Kuro casted blood pact, blood started dripping a bit from his wound, his arm started to glow in red. When it faded, he moved for a counter attack. Kuro's slowed movement made Shirona's easy to block and parried his attack. Kuro's summoned more swords as the one he used broke on clash. He then did a spinning attack but Kuro fell. Shirona saw that as an opening, but Kuro saw through that and made some broken parts of the sword to stab her legs and arms. Shirona was startled by the sudden pain on her legs and arms.

Surprised by the unexpected attack, Shirona failed to react on time to Kuro's Kick. She got hit and recovered quickly then started to place invisible rune on the map. She chanted while placing numerous runes on area. She didn't think that she would be able to be pushed that far.

Kuro activated Runic eye, locating any rune nearby. Kuro threw knifes which were enhanced by his magic to forcefully detonate the rune. The smokes from this made the spectator couldn't see what happened to the fight. Inside the smoke Shirona and Kuro skillfully blocked all attacks. Despite the thick smoke they could detect each other whereabout and they even casted magic right on their enemy. Shirona's fireball were thrown at Kuro, he quickly dodged it but the fire suddenly exploded, blowing the smoke toward him. Mika seized this chance to land a blow. Kuro's took the hit and he also landed a blow on her. Both of them fell down to the ground and bled out. Yumika saw that and came closer, suddenly both sides quickly got up and moved away from each other. Yumika was surprised at how strong both of them were.
