Lost Star

Chapter 19

Vincent takes his summer break in Ilocos with Ate Jovie. They stayed with his Lola Owa for a month.

Jovie: "The sky is filled with stars because it's summer. The stars are glowing, right Vincent?"

Vincent is just quiet while staring at the stars. He then remembers the scene when Christine shouted at him in school.

 Jovie: "What's wrong? Why are you so quiet? I notice that there is no glow on your face."

Vincent nodded and said, "I lost my star, Ate. I'm careless. I forgot to take good care of my star. And it hurts, Ate. Even now, I still feel the pain."

Jovie: "Sorry about that. Do you want to take it back?"

Vincent: "I don't know. My heart still bleeds. I cried and mourned for days. But after that, I feel alright. Though, I am not ready to take it back as I don't want to feel the pain again."

Jovie: "In time, the wounds that caused the pain will heal. Your heart will eventually find that precious star of yours.

Vincent: "I hope so, Ate."

Five years later. Vincent got a text from Christine, "Haii" Vincent thought, "Am I ready? (Deep Breath) I think I'm ready to take my star back."

Vincent texted back, "May I call you?"
