Demise's POV

My nose is gushing blood and my head hurts. "I'm eighteen now....so I guess since we're past child abuse, it's just assault."

"It's not assault if I kill you."

"No, then it's murder." I crossed my arms and stared at the chains wrapped around my ankle.  "How long are you planning to keep me down here? If I go missing, Azriel's gonna look for me."

"You'll both be down here, so there's nothing for me to worry about. The only other person who would look for your dumb little ass is Caine."

"And you're not worried about Caine?"

"No."

"What about Candice?"

"Very funny."

I smiled, wiping the blood from my nose. "I know, I'm the epitome of comedy. How long will I be down here?"

"A long time."

"Will there be refreshments?"

"Occasionally. I won't starve my own kid to death."

"What if I get horny?"

"Azriel will be down here."

"Wow you really thought of everything! You got Hulu though? I'm gonna get bored down here."

"Count your freckles then."

"I don't have a mirror."

"You seem to be in the right state of being to joke around, so you wouldn't mind if I left you down here right?"

"Not at all. Might even get rid of this boner while you're off kidnapping my boyfriend."

"You put up a pretty good fight, Kid. I'm proud of you." He laughed a bit and headed out the door, leaving me in a concrete room drenched in the smell of dried blood.

I sighed and began to him to my self, knocking my shoes together and listening to the jingle of my chains. I managed to have an entire concert with the population of myself before I got bored and sat back down, kicking my feet together again. "If this fucker makes me piss in a bucket I'm gonna cry."

"That's where you draw the line?" My dad walked in with Azriel in his arms, dropping him limply to the floor. He tried his best to list himself up while my dad chained his ankle to the same pipe as mine.

"Shit that was fast...I hope I look hot right now."

"You're an idiot."

"What happened to you?" I crawled over to him and helped him sit up, eyeing the obvious wounds on his face and hands. "Did my dad-"

"I didn't have to. Found him busted up behind some supermarket." My dad left us alone after saying that, making sure to lock the door on the way out.

"What happened?"

"I got mugged, that's all."

"What about here?" I lifted up his shirt once I saw blood soaking into it, finding a stab wound in his lower abdomen. It had been patched up a bit but not near enough to keep it from bleeding. "Are you okay? Do you feel okay-"

"Slow down, I can't understand you."

I shakily held up my hands, attempting sign the best I could. 'Knife?'

He laughed, wincing in pain as soon as he did. "Yeah, it was a knife."

'Who?'

"Oh. Your dad stabbed me on the way here so I'd be quiet. What have you been doing to pass the time?"

"Dancing."

"Of course."

"I should have asked for my guitar." I stood up and shuffled in place, humming the song stuck in my head. "I'm starting to think maybe my dad isn't very fatherly."

"No kidding."

"He doesn't have any card games or anything down here so there's not much you can do. Did he stitch that up?"

"Yeah. I'll be fine."

"You don't really understand the severity of this situation." My dad came back after a few hours with Amanda in arms. She was unconscious and her hair had been cut to about my length. "I'll lock as many people as I need in here until you get it."

"I don't really understand what I did wrong." I took her from him and watched him chain her up the same way he'd done to us. "What's the point of keeping me here? How does it benefit you?"

I sat down and laid her head in my lap, running my fingers through her hair as she slept. "It keeps you out of my way. All of you have been a nuisance to me. Even Caine."

"Are you gonna lock Caine in here too?"

"Yes."

"Great, we can have a party!"

"Demise." He stepped over to Azriel and held a pocket knife beneath his jawline and slowly pressed it into his skin. I held my breath. "I'm getting sick of your jokes."

"I just don't understand..."

"Caine can tell you everything you need to know, but since he decided to run his mouth he'll be stuck here until I decide what to do with him."

"What about the rest of us?"

"Your friends are being sold off, as for Caine he'll be with you for a while."

"What- sold to who?!"

"That's none of your business. You'll be down here until you die."

"Hey let's talk this out-

"What? Now you're scared?" He smiled and pressed the knife deeper into Azriel's skin, drawing it back to leave a deep cut above his neck. He immediately flinched and held a hand over it. "You don't care about yourself, do you?"

"Leave them alone, they didn't do anything!"

"In case you hadn't noticed, I don't care about that."

"Jasmine will find us."

"She won't."

"I don't want them to die." I watched him walk toward the door, my heart nearly beating out of my chest when he grabbed the handle. "Dad! Don't do this!"

"You did this to yourself." He locked eyes with me, sending goosebumps down my entire body. "If you want someone to blame, take a better look at the situation. You dragged them into this knowing full well how it would turn out. You should have kept to yourself."

"They're my friends."

"Your friends are going to die."
