School is quiet now but I'm not sure if I like it or not. I just sit in class, staring at my teachers and asking for the notes afterwards.

Once at lunch, I sat with Denise and Amanda. She kept translating his words to me so I wouldn't have to focus too hard on his lips.

After a few minutes, a boy I'm pretty sure I'd fought before walked up to me and slammed his hand down beside my lunch tray. I turned to see his face. "The hell happened to you?" He scowled at me in disgust, but my expression stayed the same as it had all day.

"I got hurt. I can't hear now."

"Wow so now you're deaf and a burnout?"

"Guess so." He looked confused when I turned back to my food and ignored him, shrugging and walking off to catch up with his friends. Demise and Amanda stared me. "Stop staring."

'You aren't going to fight him?' Amanda asked.

I shook my head.

"What's with you? You won't tell us what happened and now you're avoiding social conflict." Demise locked his eyes onto mine.

"I told you what happened."

"And I told you not to lie." He reached for my hand but I pulled it out of the way, which made him frown. "Fine." He stood up on the table, making me flinch and grab his ankle. "Attention fellow dick suckers and cheesecake-loving virgins!"

"Get down!"

"Hush." He dismissed me and continued. "Now I know I probably shouldn't be here because I dress like a f*ggot and honestly you fuckers are pretty dense- but I'm here anyway!"

"Demise-"

"I need an opinion on a bad decision I might make right now, so hear me out. How many of you want to see me kick my boyfriend's ass?"

I have no idea what any of the hundreds of people watching him said, but he immediately slammed the side of his boot into my face. I slipped from my seat, hitting the tiled floors as I lost track of his words.

He stepped down to my level, pulling me up to my knees by my hair.

Is this how he expects to get an honest answer out of me? I grabbed his wrist and shoved him to the floor, standing up and jabbing my own foot into his arm to make it snap.

"You've gotten better at this." He smiled at me, gently pulling his arm from me and snapping the bone back into place. "But I've been at it for much longer and I'm pretty pent up...so forgive me if I go a bit overboard."

A bit is a complete understatement. Demise broke my nose as well as fractured my wrist in that fight, which ended with both of us sitting in the same hospital room.

"Are you an idiot?" Amanda glared at him.

"Nah, I'm just a Scorpio."

I watched them bicker as the nurse wrapped up my wrist. Once finished, she stepped aside and signed to me. 'Be careful next time.'

"I will, thank you" Turning my attention back to my friends, I saw they were still going at it. Amanda even slapped him for starting the fight after it happened.

"Pfft..." I bit my tongue to hold in a laugh while watching them, but it came out anyway. "Haha! You two are morons!"

'How can you laugh when he broke your nose?' She signed to me so fast that I could barely understand it. 'Break up with him!'

Demise stared at me, his face slowly turning a deep shade of red. Once he noticed I was looking back, he covered the bottom half of his face and looked off to the side. "I'm not going to break up with him. He only did it because I kept lying."

"So you admit it's a lie!" He shot back immediately.

"You're not a complete idiot....I actually think you already know who did it."

"I wanna hear it from you!"

I sighed and pushed the hair out of my eyes. "I've been sworn to secrecy. If you're that worked up about it, ask Caine."

"You told Caine?"

"He already knew, it's not like I could hide it." I began to pick at my nails. "Besides...I want to be his friend so I probably would have told him the truth right away."
