Natasha

"Hey Rogers"

I hear myself talking. I can see his face. I am alive.

"Oh my god, I'm alive." Steve is still staring at me in shock. "I AM ALIVE!" I jump to my feet and look around. I'm still on Vormir. Oh no. I whip my head around and look at Steve. He meets my eyes. Then suddenly, as if the whole world was about to end if he didn't hug me, he wrapped me in his arms. I slide my arms around his middle and hug him back. It's so amazing to see him again. I never thought I ever would. His face was the last one I saw in my mind before I hit the ground.

"Nat, we did it, " he mumbles in my hair. "We won. You did it. He's gone." I look up at him.
"Really? He's gone? Like really, really gone?"
"Yeah. Really, really gone."

There are tears in his eyes. I have no idea what they went through after I... fell. I have no idea what else they had to sacrifice. I'm suddenly confused.

"How did you get here? Why are you here?"

He looks me up and down before he asks another question instead of answering. "Do you still have your returning Pym particle?" I open a pocket on my pants. There is a cylinder filled with red-ish-colored liquid. "Yeah, it's right here. We should go, though. I want to get off the hell of a planet." He nods in agreement. "When we get back to the compound I will explain everything, I swear," he says.

"I trust you, Steve."

He nods and our special quantum suits come up over our regular battle outfits. The helmets come up over our faces and we are sucked into the quantum realm.

...

When we rematerialize on the platform, I fall onto my knees from the force. I guess I'm still a little weak since I was dead about 20 minutes ago. As our suits side off us, I lift my head and look around. We are on a raised steel platform, like the one we left off of. Bruce is standing behind us behind multiple computers. I assume he was running the thing. The platform is next to the lake that Tony's lake house is on. By the other side of the platform are Sam and Bucky. Standing shoulder to shoulder. That's awfully close. I smile at them. I won't ever tell them this but I ship.

"Nat?"

Bruce and Sam and Bucky are all staring at me in shock. I rise to my feet.

"Hey, guys! Look what Steve found on his, erm, adventures!"

Bruce takes one step forward but then runs to me. He also hugs me, but a little too hard for comfort. "Ugh, Bruce too tight. Too tight!" He lets me go but still holds me by my arms, looking me up and down.

"How? This is impossible. Steve? What on Earth happened?" By this time Bucky and Sam are both on the platform too. This is the first time I've seen them since they were dusted by the Blip. I get up to hug Sam, but I leave Bucky alone. We're not super close so it would just be a bit awkward.

"Look who's back, " Sam grins, "They can't keep the Black Widow down." I laugh. "Yeah it takes more than a 500-foot drop to knock me out" Sam laughed at my comment and then turned to Steve. "Glad you decided to come back." Wait. He wasn't planning on coming back? What does that even mean?

"What are you talking about?" I ask, genuinely confused. This time Bucky answers first. "We thought he was going to stay back in the '40s with Peggy. But it seems he decided against it." I turn to look at Steve.

"You were going to leave everybody here? What about the Avengers? Tony? For god's sake Sam and Bucky too?" They all exchanged glances with one another. "Nat, you missed a lot when you fell, " Bruce says. Now I'm confused again. "What do you mean a lot of things changed, " I demand.

Steve moves closer to me and looks into my eyes. "Nat... Tony is dead."

My reaction is immediate. I stumble backward and Steve grabs me before I fall off the platform. That's not right. Tony can't be dead. He's Tony freaking Stark. "No...there's no way. You're lying to me. Or you're just confused. Tony Stark can't die." I glance around. Everyone is starting at the ground, refusing to meet my eyes. "Haha! Funny joke guys you can stop now."

Steve looks up at me, tears in his eyes yet again. That's when I get it. I know it deep in my gut. He's gone. Never coming back. That's when I start crying. The tears flowing down my face won't stop. They fall like rain. Eventually, I feel Steve come hug me and I sob into his shoulder.

When the tears finally stop I look up at the people around me. "Come on Nat, I told you I'd explain everything, " Steve says. He helps me to my feet and we all walk toward the Avengers compound.
