3. new people

i sat down on my old squeaky bed as I turned my tv on. its been a week I thought.

i laid back into my bed frame as I grabbed my phone and dialed a number

"Hey dude" i smiled

"oh hey leo." will said awkwardly 

this was the first time he had ever called me leo like that since the day we first met. he never really addresses me like that unless something was wrong.

"is everything ok?" I said worried

"yea I'm just with my girl." I frowned

will wasn't into relationships if it wasn't with me. he told me about her two days after I moved. i was shocked but happy for him.

"oh i see you don't wanna get ur ol' lady friend jealous haha." I smirked as he hung up on me

that was weird I thought.

i shrugged it off and decided I was gonna grab a granola bar from the vending machine in the basement. you see. the only way you can get into the basement was if lisa the maintenance lady gave you a key card. i met lisa on my first day when she saw me pacing on my floor complaining about my hunger. she told me about her son and his friends and thought I would like to meet them but I didn't think I was ready yet. 

i grabbed my keys off of my dresser and made my way to my front door. before I exited i looked behind me to see pops sleeping on our new couch we had ordered. i hope he likes it here.

i quickly pressed the button to the elevator and waited for the doors to open. shortly before they did my neighbor stood beside me and waited aswell. he was tall and had blue short hair and a blue beard. his back was pretty slouched but I didn't really pay any mind to it.

"oh hello you're the new girl with her grandpa on 403 yea?" he said smiling

"yea that's me heh." I nervously laughed.

it became silent for a moment until he said

"I'm sorry I haven't introduced myself I've been so caught up at work. my name is henry. henry fisher." he reached his hand out for me to shake it.

i hesitantly placed my hand in his and shook it "its nice to meet you. I'm leo griffin." I smiled.

shortly after the elevator bell dinged and we both entered. 

"have you met my son yet? he usually always likes to meet the new tenants haha."

"well I've been pretty closed off and not really getting to know anyone here. i know I want to. its just nerves I guess." I said tapping my finger with my other hand

"understandable. but my son is one of the nicest people you will ever meet. just keep that in mind ok?" i nodded in response.

we both got off where we needed to and I made my way to the vending machine. i heard the loud music I usually always hear everyday. my nerves calmed down a bit after talking to henry so maybe I could tell whoever it was to keep it down.

i knocked 2 times until the music paused

"ya who is it?" said a voice

"hi I'm new and my name is leo and i-" i was interrupted when a teen boy opened the door

he was tall and skinny. his hair reminded me of wills but this guys hair was brown. come to think of it he looks a lot like will. but will wore more black. he had a shirt on with the letters that spelled SF assuming it meant shit face or something. he had the biggest brown eyes that had dark eye bags under. he reaked of a strong weed smell that of course i didn't mind.

"oh hello there." he smirked

"hi I'm new and m-" i was cut off again

"yes yes i heard ur leo whats up."

i frowned "well your music is always so loud. i enjoy the same music however if i hear it playing all the time i will go insane. plus i like my quiet sometimes."

he laughed

"you're hot when ur bossy" he looked extremely high

"you don't even know me dude." i said with my hands up weirded out

"let me take you out and maybe i will think about turning down my music babe." he smirked once again

"what is the matter with you?" i said angrily 

"dude are you bothering ash again?" a voice said from behind the tall teen

"oh hi." he said startled to see me

"hi?" i said just wanting to leave

the other pushed the tall teen away and stood in front of me. he had blue hair just like henrys. I'm assuming this is the son he was referring to. he had the hair up in two pig tails. he was quite short. i was short as it is and he was around 2 to 3 inches shorter. the biggest thing i didn't notice until now was he had some sort of mask on. i didn't think anything of it really. i knew it would be rude to question it. but it was interesting. he also had these piercing blue eyes that i-

he interrupted my train of thought 

"hello?" he said waving his hand in my face

"omg I'm so sorry i guess i was just trying to process everything that just happened." i said as my hand started to shake. here we go with my nerves again.

"its ok." he said as his mask lifted slightly. i assumed that meant he was smiling at me.

"well anyway. my name is leo. I'm new to the building. im sorry you haven't seen me around much its just sometimes my nerves kinda take over." i sighed 

"oh no don't worry about that. trust me i know how you feel. i was once in your place." he said signaling for me to come inside.

"oh really?" i said as i made my way to a couch. 

i didn't feel to nervous anymore. i mean i was only worried we could run out of things to talk about but i tried not to. 

"yea. me and my dad moved from new jersey last year. i was pretty nervous but i pushed the nerves aside and met some of the most important people of my life." he said as he sat next to me

"also my names sal. but you can call me sally or sally face. i don't mind any of them. the asshole who greeted you at the door thats larry. we call him larry or lar bear. he's always high and flirts with any girl he thinks is hot haha. but if you set boundaries with him hes easier to get to know." 

i let out a soft chuckle

"haha i will definitely keep that in mind."

it got silent soon after.

but they seemed nice for new people.
