A few days passed, Meredith and Derek were together in a normal room. Derek laid in Meredith's bed and cuddled with her. "Hey Mer, I have something to say, but don't freak out okay?" Derek asked her quietly. The kids were in Daycare at this moment. Meredith turned her face to Derek. "Yeah what is it?" She replied quietly as she kissed Derek's lips gently. "Since we both can't walk well I thought that maybe we could call my mom. I mean when Amelia is at work and the kids are home, you can't lift them up, or with the baby we both can't do much to handle the kids." Derek looked in Meredith's eyes and saw fear in them. "Only if you want Mer. We don't have to." Derek added quickly. Meredith sighed and looked at the ceiling. "Even if I can walk again next week she can still help us. It would be the best for us, but only if-" Derk was cut off by Meredith. "Derek, just give me a minute to think and stop pushing me, please." Derek nodded. "I'm sorry." Derek whispered into her ear. "It's okay. Maybe she could help since I can't move on my own." She replied quietly. "I'm sorry." Derek mumbled. "Why are you sorry? You didn't do anything." Meredith replied. "You drove because of me. When I was driving you wouldn't be in this situation. Our little baby was in danger and you died for a few minutes." Derek whispered at the end as tears welled up in his eyes. "Tell me about it. About the accident if you want. I don't know anything about it besides the truck and waking up for a short time in the trauma room." Meredith said to Derek as she kissed his forehead gently. "After I woke up, I looked over to you, you were unconscious. I tried to wake you, but you couldn't wake up." He said as tears were running down his cheek, which Meredith wiped away. "My phone was in my lap and I called Amelia. We had a good reception area there. I asked her what to do, my brain was foggy and I couldn't remember anything I had to do. She told me to check your pulse. It was very weak, I freaked out, Amelia calmed me down. After that I checked your pulse again. You-You didn't had one." Derek sobbed. "I ran to your side the best I could and laid you down on the street. I did chest compression, after a couple of minutes your pulse was back. Then the ambulance came and brought you here. A few minutes before we were here, you woke up and told me that you couldn't feel your legs. Now we are here." Derek explained to Meredith. She was shocked. "I'm sorry you had to go through this." She said as she stroked his hair gently. "But it's not your fault. It's nobody's fault. Okay maybe a little bit my fault. I shouldn't turn in the middle of the road. But we're alive okay. Accidents happen. We are alive and that matters. Okay? So don't blame yourself." Meredith whispered, Derek nodded and cuddled into her. "Now call your mom and by the way I thought you had called her when I had my surgery." Meredith chuckled slightly. "No, I haven't. But Mer, something is wrong. Tell me, what's going on in the head of yours?" Derek asked. "Nothing, everything's just fine." Meredith replied with a sigh. Derek looked at her skeptical but gave in and pulled out his phone, to call his mom.
