I didn't think things would happen like they did. I didn't expect any of it to go the way it did. I expected things to be simple. How they always were. But that's not how things turned out. I don't know why. It all seemed simple at the time.

Elizabeth Scott. She's got light caramel brown hair. And light blue eyes, striking blue eyes... Oh- yeah. Right, Elizabeth, Lucy and her mother, Susan Scott. Those are the only members of her family left. Her dad and James died.

James was Elizabeth's older brother. He was 23 at the time of the accident. Elizabeth doesn't ever talk about it. She just doesn't. I don't understand what happened.

James Scott's father, Elmer Scott, was hit by a drunk driver one day when he was walking back from work. Thankfully he survived the accident. Unfortunately, Elmer Scott did not survive the complications that came with it.

Elmer Scott, a simple man, who seemed so boring. One of those people you see and think, 'Boy, they must've had a dull childhood and a boring past. Mr. Scott was one of those people. Little did I know my assumption, was wrong. Very wrong.

Elizabeth doesn't talk about that either. Not what he left. She calls it 'It' because she's too afraid to even give it a name. Or talk about its features. Never.

I guess this is our story. How things did not turn out how they were meant to. How things happened. This is the story of Elizabeth Scott.
